“If you’re gonna lose to somebody, you’re gonna want to lose to Nas,” he shrugs, evidently motivated by the loss. “Nas is a hall of fame MC. If anything it just shows how great I am to lose to such an MC. I could’ve lost to Macklemore or something.”

Was listening to Self Conscience yesterday and found this comment from the producer. Not sure how well this is known, but I’d never heard it before:
“For all y’all saying Pee killed Nas on this....This song was a record we produced originally for the HNIC album. Nas heard it and wanted it for QB album. Nas then put his verse on it.”

I agree, the can't fukk myself and mind is the power lines stick with me the most. That's just the debate around it or that it feels more like a Prodigy song, which it apparently is.

Nas and P both shined, I can't call it.

HNIC P was in his bag so much Hav, Nas and Cormega all wanted verses/songs from it (Quiet Storm was for HNIC, Self Conscience and Mega wanted THREE for The Realness but had to settle for P's THUN AND KICKO verse).

RIP Prodigy mannn :wow:

Never knew he did this

Yeah during the bigger arena shows for the Life is Good tour he had a stage show set up. I think this one is from the Carneige Hall new years show but I remember seeing him in London at the O2 Arena and he came out in Illmatic army fatigues with a shorty in a green dress and threw the bouqet in the crowd

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
Killing it with the new vids @jensyao :ahh:

I think I finally ran out of video ideas, which is good because I have other checklist items to do...i just did a lot of overarching themes to cover the most ground or make videos that a regular fan wouldn't know...

there's so many incomplete Nas compilations/makeshift playlists/mixtapes on youtube that it's appalling....nobody is using the whole Nas discography deck to make compilations on there and I was fed up with other youtubers pedaling low-researched work

things to do:

  • transcribe all the remaining Nas songs to rapgenius and annotate when appropriate jensyao | Genius

  • Find all the subliminal disses Nas sent out over the years..Halftime, HHID etc

  • Create re-imagined playlists for albums for tracks that were scrapped but was fire

i actually hate contributing to rapgenius because a lot of it is grunt-work and there's still significant amounts jay-stan trolling on there..i swear, every rare Nas song's unregulated annotation starts off with "Nas is not so smart here" or some bullshyt quote/meme from Jay lyrics taking jabs at Nas

it's ironic that Nas invested in rapgenius but the people who are their editors are jay stans...we need to have a Nas crusade to edit for rap genius and contribute annotations from a pro-Nas standpoint so that at least one of us can fight off all the Jay-stans on that site from an editor's perspective

I posted more on the 2 channels but these actually took some effort
