Fat Joe biggin up Illmatic on his Instagram
Sooner or later etc
Nas was in prime form on this joint
Loved this shyt...wasnt the story behind this that some kid won a beat competition and the winner got to have Nas rap on the winning beat?
either way this one of my favorite loosies from him
“As I circle the table like Babe Ruth
Louisville Slugger in my grip for a fake dude
Bat to the brain with brute force
Splatter my cream velour suit
They hit me with lawsuit
I slip in your whore coupe”
I think I finally ran out of video ideas, which is good because I have other checklist items to do...i just did a lot of overarching themes to cover the most ground or make videos that a regular fan wouldn't know...
there's so many incomplete Nas compilations/makeshift playlists/mixtapes on youtube that it's appalling....nobody is using the whole Nas discography deck to make compilations on there and I was fed up with other youtubers pedaling low-researched work
things to do:
- find remaining Nas acapellas and instrumentals or DIY it www.reddit.com/r/nas/comments/mj5men/ongoing_the_hunt_for_nas_acapellas_need_your_help/
- fill in the producers and various trivia notes for all the leaked Nas tracks over the years https://www.reddit.com/r/nas/wiki/index
- do some vocal synthesis on available acapellas and see where it goes www.reddit.com/r/nas/comments/mnc6fx/experimental_used_voice_synthesis_on_nas/
- transcribe all the remaining Nas songs to rapgenius and annotate when appropriate jensyao | Genius
i actually hate contributing to rapgenius because a lot of it is grunt-work and there's still significant amounts jay-stan trolling on there..i swear, every rare Nas song's unregulated annotation starts off with "Nas is not so smart here" or some bullshyt quote/meme from Jay lyrics taking jabs at Nas
it's ironic that Nas invested in rapgenius but the people who are their editors are jay stans...we need to have a Nas crusade to edit for rap genius and contribute annotations from a pro-Nas standpoint so that at least one of us can fight off all the Jay-stans on that site from an editor's perspective
I posted more on the 2 channels but these actually took some effort
What was he singing after the Pete Rock breakdown? It sounded catchy over that beat.
We need this in CDQ.
Seriously.
Fat Joe showed Nas and Illmatic a lot of love on his show the other day. I hope it's no hard feelings from Nas when Fat Joe said what he said to Doja Cat. Joe is a horrible journalist so I think he just worded it wrong lol
I mean, the acapella exists...all we need to do is find the original sample and lace the vocals with the loop and we'll get it
a lot of the 1999 Nas leaks got remixed for Nastradamus and Lost Tapes...It's as if Nas got the "2Pac Treatment with his posthumous albums" when all his OG beats got remixed with new beats in the Lost Tapes-Era
taking a stab at it ....if the OG track was premiered on the radio in 1998, this might have been one of those Dr. Dre sessions with the Firm...the beat sounds like what Dre might do -- luscious sounds, crisp drums, and grandiose production...this track doesn't sound like it was made for the original I AM...The autobiography sessions...the OG I AM beats vs this track is night and day so this track and the instrumental is probably in the Dr. Dre vault somewhere...if this is the case, someone always rap on Dr Dre beats and he reuses instrumentals sometimes...Dr Dre's vault have been leaking a bit recently
what's the piano sample to The Game Lives on? apparently it samples the Neville Brothers
I’m talking about what dude said in the Twitter post. He was talking about Project Windows.no, we're talking about the OG blaze a 50....nobody reply fast enough so I put two thoughts in the same post
there's 3 versions to project windowsI’m talking about what dude said in the Twitter post. He was talking about Project Windows.
