Salaam Remi has given Nas some of HIS best beats of his career. This myth about Salaam nit suplying heat rocks needs to be put to rest.

Without Salaam you have NO

Get Down
Made You Look
I Can
Thief’s Theme
Bridging The Gap
Queens Story
Cherry Wine
Bye Baby
Nasty

Plus What Goes Around, War, You Can't Stop Us Now, Talk of New York, Serious, Don't Body Ya Self, Nazareth Savage and the song that Nas arguably came closest to replicating his Illmatic flow - Streets Disiciple.

that Bye Baby track had 40 all over that shyt.

Remi gets blamed because he oversees his projects, so the wack shyt that winds up on it can be directly tied to 2 people: Nas and Salaam Remi (unless you want the blame to 100% fall on Nas).

If this is a Kanye produced album completely and Nas still can't pick beats to save his life, then we know who is at fault, but I swear to God if this album has 5 or more Remi beats on it that sound like Reach Out, I never wanna see Remi associated with another Nas project.

Salaam Remi makes good stuff for Nas, he's one the consistent cat for him for like a 10 year run

I think Nas is consciously aware of his beats and we saw that played out in how much better Life is Good and rapped on stuff like The Season and Nas Album Done.

Remi has produced some classic Nas records. But he has also done shyt like Zone Out, and Reach Out (which I know many people like, it's not a terrible beat my problem is that it's an uninspired sample that has been used many times/is dated).

He's a good producer, just look at the stuff he's done for Amy Winehouse and the Fugees. I mean, the man produced Fugee La. I just think Nas has picked a few Remi beats that were questionable.
:yeshrug:

When I think of producers I never want to hear produce Nas again I think of...Dame Grease. Not really Remi.
