I hope not

If you really look into it his story isn’t that interesting
Well it depends.

The thing is, there are not a lot of drug kingpins that have a unique or interesting story that translates well to movies or tv.

Candidly, there is Pablo...and that's kind of it.

Once you get to the States, all of these big drug guys have the same story.

The Mexico stuff makes sense as a show because of how embedded the cartels were/are with the government. It adds a real political angle to things besides just the killing and money. But that story is complicated to tell and takes time to do it right.

Whatever drug lord was on top for 3-5 years in NY, LA, Detroit, Chicago....that's all the same shyt.

I don't think the show is bad. I just think the Mexican cartels don't capture the imagination the way Pablo Escobar did.

It is a different kind of story. It could be a lot better but with so many characters, you would need years to tell the stories properly...and for each one of them.

I think they're doing the best they can.

Though I wish the Cali Cartel story was more detailed.

You figure the next step in the story is that of Chapo, but even he doesn't seem that interesting.

I think the series has run its course. What are they gonna do besides that? The Freeway Rick story? I doubt it.

I do like the show tho.

Narcos has done 5 seasons and its only 1989

There alot of story to tell

The Escobar thing ran to 1993
The Cali Cartel...1995

So now you're left with the wars between Tijuana and Juarez....and then Chapo.

But it is hard to make any of the Juarez or Tijuana guys particularly interesting or compelling stories.

Yeah stuff happened. But good stories need good characters...charismatic guys...(for better or worse) and I'm not sure Amado Carrillo Fuentes, the Arellano Felix brothers or Chapo are those guys.

And let's be honest, even this Walt Breslin guy is boring compared to Murphy and Peña.

The 90's was the beginning of the Wars in Mexico. TJ became the main player in the country. Each organization became more militarized. There is still so much story to tell. And the further the story goes, the more unbelievable it becomes. By the time the mid 2000's hit the story becomes stranger than fiction.
