I just hated the whole “I’m going to teleport you guys here to get the rematch”. They could have written a better storyline than that to get those battles going
The look of the first 7 mins should have been what the entire movie looked like. Did they have two directors. Separate editors? I’m confused. Also, the movie should have been about Scorpion vs Subzero and how their feud affected generations, with the tournament introduced as backdrop and the other characters introduced for world building.
The problem with this movie is the writer/director/WB tried to create a new story outside of the lore of MK video games. That works great if the story is actually better than the lore of MK, but it isn’t - at all. In turn, it feels stupid. “This is the best y’all came up with? Why not just have a conventional tournament? Who the fukk is Cole?”
