ok i was a little rusty on the numbers but nonetheless while defense spending is quite high its a necessary function of government and if i were in charge i would definitely look into cutting certain areas of it without weakening our strategic goals...but my philosophy is to privatize most of the other government programs or at least have a private option to curb some of the costs and because i think its a superior more effecient way of providing benefit to the people. By doing that i would want to eliminate the majority of taxes for everyone...but i don't have access or the time to sit here and map it out...if i were to do that i would write a book on it and make money off of it at least...hmm thats not a bad idea actually

Do u know how much guap was wasted on the f22 Raptor?

They cant even use em in war:damn:

Dont even fly in the rain :what:

And Congress wanted to ok more of them :why:

I imagine its a lot of waste in Defense

There is a TON of waste in military spending and I agree that our defense budget can be cut back. However, Sly is right when saying that Medicare and Social Security are the two biggest drivers of our country's long term fiscal crisis.

You'd rather Ryan at the top then mitt?

yeah remember most conservatives aren't crazy about Romney...he doesn't exactly he doesn't exactly have solid principles so he has to be kept in check when he wants to conform to whatever he will deem popular for his presidency as opposed to what is good for the country in the long term

And like I said, an ad showing Ryan's idol worship of Ayn Rand juxtaposed against her condemnations of Christianity could be part of a tangential strategem to turn a traditional Republican strength into a weakness that puts them on the defensive, and only a small prong of a larger strategy of carpet-bombing with negative ads on a variety of fronts, not a central campaign strategy. Throwing a bunch of bullshyt at the wall and hoping some of it sticks with some voters is part of a good campaign. There's really nothing more that needs to be said than that. This whole exchange was a huge waste of time. Find some other shyt to beat your contrarian drum about, bruh.

Meh.

IMO they'd be better off being explicit about exactly what the Ayn Rand ideology that Ryan supports is really about. Let's be reality, Paul is a hardcore far right ideologue. He's a true "fukk the poor" guy.

I mean he deeply believes that the government helping those in need is immoral, that prosperity through any sort of wealth redistribution is unjust/evil, and that taxes not going to the military/police are basically theft. He says (and may believe) that his ideas will save the economy, but the ultimate objective is to protect the sanctity of property rights, which are above all. This may sound extreme but it's basically just classic Ayn Rand.

Rather than worrying about religion, I think the Dems would be better off highlighting how much his ideas would fukk over the poor.

Ryan is actually extremely charismatic. Its actually fukked up that he ran with Romney. He is actually ruining his own potential to be president one day. Romney is a fukking loser and needs to go the hell back to Utah. A Christie/Ryan ticket would have been GOAT.

most conservatives aren't crazy about Romney, yet he's your party's candidate

what does that tell you?

this campaign is starting to look eerily similar to 2008.

IMO Biden would have been a better prez than Obama. I digress though.

The best thing for progressives is not an Obama victory, its taking back the HOUSE. When Obama had a majority, that is when he made all the changes that we can be happy about, but as soon as he lost it he sprinted further to the right than I could have even predicted. Completely folded on his principles. I hope the DCCC has some tricks up their sleeves to regain those seats, they've been running devastating ads against Romney I hope they've got stronger ones for some of these Senators and Congressmen

I really don't see the Dems taking back the House this year, the odds just aren't good. IMO, the best we can hope for is for Obama to stay, Dems to keep the Senate, and for the Republicans to lose a couple seats. TBH I'm a little worried that Dems will lose the Senate since more of them that Republicans are up for reelection.

Come to think of it, I would rather have Romney win and Dems get control the House and Senate than to have Obama win while the Republicans get the House and Senate. That would pretty much kill any chance of Obama getting anything done.

But then again, the Dems are pussies so even if they got the house I doubt they would take advantage of it.

He never really had a majority in the House. Blue Dog democrats were useless in the Healthcare debates.
