I kinda see where you're coming from.
This DOC is benefitting a little bit from the corona shyt:hubie:(No Sports) Dont get me wrong its still piff...great stuff. Its easier to see the stuff we already know again...cause we dont get much else to watch. Now we'd be watching the playoffs, etc.

However, the Pistons 30/30 showcased how much of a threat Jordan and the Bulls were. This Doc just showed nothing but the Pistons being physical.
This documentary would have been much worse if they only talked about Jordan's last season when he was already 35. This is not only the Last Dance but a culmination of his career. I don't see how anyone can have an issue with that. If anything , it will show more people what Jordan and the Bulls were all about not just them on their last legs.

As for you point about the Pistons. Well duh. This is a Bulls documentary attempting to cover everything from 84-98. If you want to watch something specifically about the Bad Boy Pistons, then their 30/30 is good for that. They can't waste too much time in the Last Dance talking about the Pistons.

Also, this documentary is much harder and more complicated to do than many other documentaries of its kind. There is just too much stuff to cover from Jordan's career. They're trying to be as holistic as possible.

The jumping around timelines takes away from the story IMO.

It's called The Last Dance, but it's covering everything. It's almost like they wanted to edit this like an album on shuffle. Not sure why they went with that approach, the content is golden and it doesn't need any "spicing" up to maintain viewers interest.

It felt like they made a conscious effort not to show Isiah Thomas putting in any work on here. No highlights at all. If one of the goals for this documentary is to show how fierce the Bulls journey was to reach the top, then I feel like they should have highlighted the opposing stars more. I might be in the minority, but with the story skipping to the 98 season, and back to the 90/91 runs, it made it seem like they skimmed over the Pistons rivalry here

I wouldn't go that far but having seen the leaked 8 episodes it becomes very clear that every chapter could've had 10-15 minutes dedicated to more playoff/Finals/rivalries.

Then again I think I just wanted to see them being highlighted because it's just great content (because I already know how great those games and rivalries were). The more casual or younger fan will be on board by the 2-5 minutes dedicated to those things and go :ohhh:

I was also surprised how little the doc highlights some of MJ insane stats during some huge games.
.

The director lets Marv or a talking head (and the footage do the talking) but there are some games were I think it needed more emphasis on what the viewer is watching.

In today's episode for example in Game 2 of the 91' Finals Aldridge says "and Jordan went nuts" and we see a couple of quick highlights and Marv saying "Jordan has scored 12 straight field goals" before he does the iconic layup were he switches hands. That sequence takes 30 seconds and if you are not paying attention is kinda goes over your head before they go to the importance of putting Scottie on Magic.

It's little stuff like that, and it happens in basically every ep. Now, the doc is fukking amazing so this nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking. I don't mind the 98 season being the string that holds the whole narrative together. Specially because in later episodes it gets tighter and some of the exclusive footage is fukking dope as hell. MJ pulls some shyt in the 98' playoffs that will have this thread fukking DYING :pachaha:

LeAchilles need to accept the fact he built this legacy of failures on the largest stage. 3-6 is still 3-6.
The Mavs 1 is the one that he'll never live down. Couldn't take advantage of JJ Barea:mjlol:

And the fact he looked to team up with as many all stars as possible.
