I never said he wouldn't have imprisoned him but he most definitely would have tried to rehabilitate him while he had him imprisoned.

And oh by the way, T’Challa did the same thing. Zemo killed his father, and not only did he not kill Zemo, he prevented him from taking his own life.
Namor didnt want any problems with Wakanda. But Angela Bassett panicked and sent Lupita to bring her back, while also distracting Namor. Nakia killed some of his people and he retaliated.
Not only that, but he was also upset about T’Challa revealing to the world Wakanda’s true power, which set off events that had CAC coming to their world. Unintended consequences. T’Chaka was right to keep Wakanda hidden.
Killmonger on the other hand was a lost cause. Even his father knew it. T’Challa knew it wasn’t his fault, which is why he was willing to save him, but even Killmonger knew it was a weak move. He would rather die in battle than be locked up.
