sounds like they were planning to have shuri take the mantel all along. They been moving in a female direction with all the heroes.
She Hulk, She Thor, She Panther, She Ironman New WIdow, Scarlet Witch. Captain Marvel. No way they recasting another dude when this already falls in line with their grand plan of having more women headliners.

Please don't let that skinny bytch be the face of the franchise......

I don’t have a problem with her taking up the mantle at some point in the future but right now isn’t the right time since T’Challa story is just getting started and we need more time with his character.

Her having a more prominent role doesn’t mean that she will he the lead character. Kevin Fiege always wanted for T’Challa to be one of the new faces of the MCU. There’s simply no Black Panther without him. BP2 has been in development since 2018 and they aren’t going to scrap everything and further delay the film when It’ll be much easier for them to just recast. There’s plenty of other young Black actors who can do just as great of a job as Black Panther as Boseman.

They don't need to rewrite, she was already written to take the mantel to begin with. All they had to do was cut out his scenes and add a funeral.

We had five movies with his character, that was plenty. adding a new guy for just two more movies only to pass it to shuri would make no sense.

He only had one starring film and he was a side character in the other three. His story is not complete and why would they bring him back to life in Endgame only to kill and write off his character in BP2? It simply makes no sense.

Because he died in real life, it makes perfect sense actually. Obviously the rout would've been slightly longer(like two movies) if he had survived but they clearly planned to have shuri be the leader of the new school going forward. This just forced them to accelerate their plan.

That still doesn’t justify killing off his character though. If anything it would be in poor taste since he fought so hard battling cancer while still playing the role of T’Challa and being a positive role model for Black children worldwide (he was also eager to start filming BP2 weeks prior to his death) for them to simply rush and have Shuri take the mantle so soon with no character development (she was a borderline comic relief character in BP 1 and she barely did anything in Infinity War and Endgame) would be a huge mistake. like I said Kevin Feige had big plans for T’Challa and I don’t think that he will back off from those plans. As tragic as Boseman’s death was he can and will be replaced at some point.

alot of people think recasting him would be in poor taste.
you usually recast for a reboot or if the actor is an a$$hole. Not just because they died.

They won't go back to Killmonger because they won't put their entire franchise on the back of a villain. It doesn't matter how much he resonated with black people. They would have to change him up first, like they did Loki, but he's dead so.....Secondly, you have white saviors of an independent African nation, and that won't fly with their black audience. And for comic heads, the Avengers don't belong in Wakanda for extended periods of time. Even in the MCU, the time they've been there, they've fukked everything up. And it takes more than 1 movie for Shuri to become a character she never showed any traits of having, which is how she differs in the comics. They tied T'Challa with BP too much for anything other than a recast or T'Challa. He was hinted at already BP before he became king.

Not to mention we may be getting live action illuminati, there is still plenty for T'challa to do in the MCU.

:dahell: A lot of actors who died before filming a movie or show have gotten replaced. It isn’t something that’s unusual at all.

Chadwick is the lead..its not as easy as swap this scene and add a funeral...he is intertwined in the storyline...he was set to workout to build his body for the movie
