Of course. People really though it was feasible to recast this deep into the MCU for a major character like him after the actor died?
was never going to happen unless they rebooted the whole series. Made no sense either, black panther is mantel to be passed on. This way give more respect to the original actor. Recasting would've been treating him as if he never existed. You do that when the previous actor got fired or was an a$$hole like Ed Norton, not to someone who was admired by the general public.

Shuri becoming the Black Panther is fukkin stupid - she's already a super important character with a major role to play. you'd be essentially combining the 2 most important characters in Wakanda. that sucks.

just re-write the entire mythos. movies are different from the source material. just let Lupita wear the suit, she's a big star already... name a more pointless character in the MCU. She was a Wakandan spy - Wakanda made themselves known to the world. She was the love interest of the king - the king is dead. Big time actresss with no role.

or pull a Winter Soldier on Killmonger, everyone will forget his past crimes... or just say fukk it, and create a hero. say there is a Wakandan kid who is pure of heart and has all the attributes of the black panther. re-write the rules and have him be BP without being King.

no Winston Duke though. M'Baku is a good character but the actor is a massive doofus.

Or just fukking recast and continue the story line as is....jesus fukking christ.

The magnitude on screen and real life is high. Letitia Wright would be going from a small screen actor and supporting character, to a major role in real life. She's going to have the pressure of living up to the role of being Black Panther, and filling Bosemans shoes. I'm rooting for her though

There is no selfishness. Everybody still gets black panther, but we also get to keep chadwick in our memory instead of trying to pretend like he never existed just because we want to preserve a continuity that has characters passing mantles to other characters all the time anyways. recasting was a disrespectful idea from the start. Basically stepping on his grave just so you can keep the name t'challa even though a new character would be playing black panther either way.

It's not that simple. The franchise is way to polarizing to bring in someone to fill Bosemans' shoes. They all had a bond making that movie. It wouldn't be the same

His name should remain with that actor for the duration of this continuity. You still get to have your black panther and all it entails, but t'challa is for chadwick until they reboot.

Let's be reality, we know we can't speak for those who aren't here...but given his disposition, his heart, his intelligence, integrity and self awareness, do you honestly think the man in question would co-sign this fakkit ass fan 'campaign' to pay respects to him by letting what he set in motion come to a halt because he couldn't finish the journey?
