I could see something like that happening. It's crazy how a brief scene can give foreshadowing to something big in the future.

That's the only time they've showed him being smooth.

He bytched Trudy's pops into giving him a bunch of accounts after he had to drop Clearisil.

Led to Trudy's pop calling him a son of a bytch and Pete

One of my favourite episodes, fukk Roger for the ''I'm not paying:beli:'' line. Pete had a couple of hilarious lines with Trudy, his sleaziness was off the chart for the rest of the ep though. Lane and them think they're better than him but always let him do the shady shyt that helps the company.

The Peggy/Don stuff was awesome. That sound Hamm made when Peggy told him where she was going... He still got a :smugdraper: line in with the ''Let's pretend'' deal though. This may be my favourite season, so much great little touches in each episode.

I hate to say but it feels as though all signs are pointing to the demise of :smugdraper:

-Bert Cooper uncharacteristically calling him out earlier in the season
-his protege and ace in Peggy leaving
-Ginsberg killing it
-that conversation with Megan about losing interest in his work

Maybe that scene with the elevator shaft is about his career. Smarten up Don the wolves are out for you (this dude Ginsberg was ignoring a PAWG crawling on the table obsessing about Don).

Not to mention Pete who has always been threatened by Draper da gawd.

Peggy must have had that seed of doubt in her head about her future at SCDP when she hired Ginsberg otherwise there is no way she would have allowed such a threat into the creative staff. Who knows, we might see her become a rival of Don eventually.

Let's talk about roger for a second, I think he said that line to play off how hurt he was. I think he genuinely loves Joan and her turnin him down but accepting the whoring probably fukked him up.

Exactly. Roger is used to having control of things. His marriage, his work, everything. For a woman he cares for denies him, but favors to sleep with a guy like him probably tore him apart for a bit.

And Don isn't losing it, just life man.

Plus Roger was throwing Joanie free money and she refused to take it. But she layed on her back for a payday.

That got to fukk with Roger a little.

plus, with Cooper and Sterling on their way out and what he holds over Don i could see it happening.
which may lead to SCDP destructing in the final season with Pete finally getting what he wants.

i wonder if Lane will shove Pete down the elevator shaft in an act of desperation if Pete finds out or it might be Lane that commits that and tosses himself down it.

I don't see how yall think Pete is still holding a card over Don that he already tried to play. Didn't Pete try to expose Don to Cooper already, and Cooper basically gave 0 fukks?

That was Bert.

He pretty much sad I don't give a fukk who he is, when he's at the office he's Don Draper.

And yeah, don't think Pete can play that card anymore. shyt, Megan knows.

Yeah my bad, I meant Cooper. But yeah, from that point on, I don't don't think Pete has viewed this piece of information as a card anymore.

The changing of the guard and these good ol' boys not evolving with the times is probably the most prevalent theme of the show. Even Don, who's a little more progressive with things like feminism, still can't seem to get with it completely.

If anyone is dethroning Don, it's Peggy, she's got Don's tutelage and obviously the talent. She's also becoming more and more confident by the episode. Ginsberg doesnt have the swag to be Don, but he's a force to be reckoned with.

I forget what account it was for, but SCDP and the firm Peggy went to were competing for it last season i think and Don was offended by that dude that hired Peggy because he thought he was Don's competition even though he'd never accomplished anything. I remember agreeing with him, but thinking his inability to respect him would come back on him.
