I said this is dime store fiction but that’s still bad writing.

A soap opera is dumb, trash melodrama doesn’t mean you can just change your character’s personality every episode to fit whatever drama you want.

Bad writing or not, you have to omit logical explanations.

Feels like a mid Prime show at times. Like that other Peele executive produced show Hunters.

What the fukc even happened in ep 2? This is a rhetorical question. The answers should have been on the screen.

In general I have only like 1 thing Peele has done without Key. "Get Out"

And I am starting to think this niqqa is the luckiest niqqa alive and he stumbled into that one.

"Us" was HORRIBLE.

The Twilight Zone shyt didn't grab me. I remember watching 1 or 2 eps of that it feels like. Dude was changing reality with a standup routine? I think that was one of em.

Anyway: NOT impressed with Lovecraft Country so far. So unimpressed that its been hard for me to try another ep

Bad writing can undercut story whether it’s logical or not.

You write a two hour movie where the characters spend almost the entire run time jumping from Madrid to Egypt to Israel only to find out they cut have gone straight to Israel by walking down their house stairs it kind of undercuts your investment the obstacles you watched your character faced. Just so you can have an easy escape.

I'm on the fence with this one.... Watched the first 3 episodes and it kinda feels all over the place. The 2nd episode almost lost me. Maybe the story will start coming together but I'm really struggling to figure out what the central story is, feels like it's jumping all over the place. I'm supporting because it's a black show, but this isn't the quality of some recent HBO shows like Watchmen, The Outsider, and even Raised by Wolves.
