All that build up over 10 episodes for it to end with a Black Girl Magic punchline and metaphor?
Arguably the best episode and it was all in a different language
only issue I had writing wise is they kind of made it hard to redeem the protagonist. I know we knew he did some stuff he was ashamed of as they alluded to it in prior episodes but we supposed to be rooting for a murderer from now on I’m sure they just are gonna probably never mention it again/ignore it character wise but how we gonna have the “hero” just committing irredeemable acts out here
If you want black characters leading stories then sometimes they will be bad, good, problematic, live, die.
You don’t see Jor-el die to save his only son and think he’s a b—-ch character.
Thomas Wayne, Uncle Ben. Strong characters whose deaths are central to their child’s/ nephew’s development.
So you basically just got an prequel story for George Freeman.
Another HBO series where the breh dies at the end.
Maybe im seeing things differently but Tic led the family through everything and sacrificed himself for his son to come through and continue the journey. There was nothing in this series that made Tic seemed less of a man. Yes his dad was gay and abusive but his uncle was a stand up guy. Even the women had their own faults displayed throughout. Im not here to argue but adding my two cents. As far as the Tulsa riots episode, how did it destroy black masculinity?yes they do NOT want masculine blackmen around that's the prevailing thought pushed by these shows.
@KingofthePenguinsHow many times you gonna give Jordan Peele a pass for some wack shyt?
So because two teenagers were gay and one abusive father it undermined some agenda? That Tulsa episode did everything it could to destroy Black masculinity
I had so many emotions going through me watching that episode. I'm truly disgusted how they did that.
So because two teenagers were gay and one abusive father it undermined some agenda?
Nothing about the father protecting his daughter? Two black men trying to protect their homes and a stranger? Beating a group of white thugs? Taking time to read off the names of real businesses burned in the massacre?
I understand that pushing agendas can be a turn off but this black masculinity agenda y’all want pushed seems just as wrongheaded.
