Bro that shyt had so much promise

It took me back in time like I wish I could see what it was like and it felt like I was there.. the road trip was beautiful.. then the racist ass cops.. then them monsters fukkin everybody up .. cop turning to one of em(show didn't even expand on that) to them finding a house talking bout we been waiting on you.. mannn that first episode was beautiful

"Black Road Trip through the Twilight Zone" probably would have been a more enjoyable show.
Driving from town to town on a quest, running into Monsters of the Week, running from guys in white sheets that are literally not human underneath, etc.
Then again, people would have called that "too predictable."

Its about a 7.5/10 for this show, but I'm a bit upset cause the show should be about a 9 or 9.5 scale.

As a said with Underground....Its a Misha issue. She's rather make entertaining good than consistently great. Happy for the show, but it could have been another level.

Speaking of Underground...think of that show compared to the craft of this trailer from Barry Jenkins.




The craft looks on another level.

MIsha had HBO money/backing she should have have had Lovecraft's pacing/cinematography/story points all on point. Somehow Lovecraft for as good as it is...didnt feel like the normal HBO show in terms of those things.

The actors just carried the hell out of it and its cool to see something new with black leads.

I just want to come here to say this show hates straight black men. Its ugly black women writing a show and taking out their anger on black men.

Think about it. Only one straight black man as a regular, because they killed off the other one and then made the other one a gay dude. Both Tig and his father are "toxic black men" who killed women in cold blood.

And then everyone else is a woman. Every single other character is a woman! The aunt, her daughter, the girlfriend, her sister, the white lady, the fox demon lady, the ancestor, the lady from the 30s, at any point they could have made any of these characters male. and they didn't. They actually changed them from male in the book to female on the show.

And left us with one straight black male who murders a woman in cold blood and calls his dad a gay slur.

Its not even hidden. They are obviously attacking us.

this is actually what i thought it would be. i was expecting something like hp lovecraft's 'the shadow over innsmouth' but replace fishmen with weird cacs

I wouldn't say it was an agenda, but Montross isn't gay in the book, Diana is Horace, and the dead men are alive. And while I'm at it, Christine is a dude too in the book too. In fact, the book only had white folk RIP'd. Only one of those changes had no effect on the story. You have to question why would they make those major changes? They basically Tyler Perry'd it.

I'm just starting to catch up on Fargo. For a series set in the same time period, I think they handle music so much better.
