I haven't really changed much diet wise just have upped the cardio a lot because muay thai is different. Boxing will always be my love tho :noah:

diet usually some eggs/bacon/toast in the morning or a bagel, lunch is usually a sandwich from the spot or the goat Dominican food

dinner is usually ricew chicken or steak and a veggie on the side and I do my best to try to get close to a gallon of water a day(I rarely reach it tho :lolbron: )

Hematologist got me on this new medicine for Sickle Cell and shyt is amazing. :wow: I've been testing it out in the gym and in muay thai especially I can really push my body now :wow:

lil shadowboxin been doing more muay thai since the one on one sessions are all you can book. So it's mostly this and a lil lifting but im pretty happy w where im at no complaints.

the side by side comparison from around when I first started this thread and the one on the right is current. Had 2 stem cell hip surgeries in between these pics as well. Prob the best I've felt in years and muay thai wise i finally feel competent although its been tough unlearning the boxing stuff for me :snoop: but yeah im happy w my progression went from good for someone with SC to :obama:

still no where near nikkas who do this shyt for a living tho :merchant: and im probably gonna get fukked up whenever Mendezboxing do open and I go back since my brain is in muay thai mode :huhldup:

Only person im competing with is the old me tho :banderas: and I might have that nikka beat :demonic:

Appreciate it breh :salute: idk about fitness comps seems like you gotta go on "supplements" in that world and apart from it being super dangerous for me im cool w where im at. I honestly don't even train for aesthetics anymore :yeshrug: just want to get better at muay thai and boxing. When I do work out with weights im doing things to help w my explosiveness/speed and strength in the clinch(cleans/deads/squats/box jumps etc) so im better at MT/Boxing.

Life is funny like that though because (in my opinion anyway) I look better aesthetics wise now than I did when I made this thread and back then I was chasing that look :ehh:

oh and the chick from my old post in this thread is currently a ufc fighter :gladbron:......she learned her grappling at the wrestling school my son goes to and did her strength and conditioning at the same one I went to :wow: so happy for her man :obama: funny back then I used to :hhh: at muay thai because I was so biased to boxing now I love it.

still working that rona ring rust off, getting better at knees but elbows are :ld:





forgot my damn venum gloves(underrated brand) so I had to use the old struggle everlast joints :beli: forgetting your damn gloves is like hitting the gym without your headphones.

bout to order some winning gloves to hit peak boxing nerddom

bout to switch to a 3 day pull/push/legs routine and 1 day boxing, 1 day muay thai one or maybe alternate weeks.....idk ima mess around w it and see where im more comfortable at.

Did you end up ordering the Winning? Been wanting to for a while yet Rival never fails me. I know Winnings are like the Rolls Royce of gloves though, the best out. That Japanese quality control.

Can’t to wrong with the $90-150 range Rival bag gloves either or as a secondary/backup pair in the rotation.

Im waiting for my boxing gym(nyc :beli:) to reopen to order the winning joints they get them a bit cheaper.

My muay thai coach recommended fairtex for muay thai so i copped for around 150 i think and i love em especially where most of the padding is at.

And I also been seriously contemplating getting into muy thai. Boxed in my teens and still do light training here and there so my hands are still solid. But I feel like muy Thai might be more effective in a street fight. Especially with those those low kicks. I seen too many street fight videos where dudes get hit with low kicks and go into panic mode:damn:.......I don't plan on street fighting but I think it's always wise to be prepared. I wanna have an all around game. And muy thai just looks like it would be mad fun to train in. The versatility is what intrigues me.

Bro leg kicks literally change everything man. I cant recommend Muay Thai enough especially if you already got some boxing in you. There are small things you gonna have to unlearn in your head that will take some time but once MT "clicks" :wow:

I dont plan on getting into any street fights either but imagine how a trained person could win a street fight off a jab now your reach is even crazier and no one is expecting a leg or mid kick in a street fiht unless they trained too. The avg dude doesnt know his range, will be throwing bolos etc. Now imagine all the options w leg kicks and teeps(a front push kick that you could work like a jab or put some sauce on it and fukk someone up. All this while being no where near of a dangerous range for your opponent to catch you. And once they start focusing on you fukking their legs up you now have them open to give em some boxing work or get even closer and fukk em up w knees and eblows :demonic:

I was doing calisthenics in the park when rona first until about late fall. Mendez boxing gym shut down soon as rona hit and Mr Mendez passed away from rona :mjcry: lived to beat cancer and died from this demonic virus :mjcry:. Mendez still isnt open but they plan on opening n his brother gonna run it.

My son wrestling gym is in the same building as the mt/bjj but w rona there are no classes just 1 on 1 privates. So while Jr does his wrestling shyt i do my MT private. You have to test weekly and the coach wears a mask/face shield so i figured i would do MT help stay in fighting shape and ended up loving it.

Now i do maybe 3 days week lifting(squat/deads/cleans/press/pullups/pushups/dips/cardio ect) and 2 days MT/Boxing. Love their sparring too its very technical, relaxed, touch sparring working on techniques instead of fukking each other up. You should give it a try shyt is mad fun. Peep the difference in my body composition since I stared it.....shyt will get you in shape shape :whew:

Also the vids i put up was from back when i had jr to record i was still in "boxing mode" but yeah the muscle memory starting to get there i feel a lot more comfortable now in the MT clinch n throwing knees and elbows. Not saying im good or anything :whoa: just that stuff is starting to come together. Unfortunately we in wrestling season so i got nobody to record my shyt ima try putting it in the ring corner maybe to update the thread more.
