Exactly. AT&T is a company with a $200 billion dollar+ market cap and you got people in here tryna tell them how to make money, shyts ridiculous lol..

That said, if theaters do become viable again then I'm sure they will scale back the 'same day' deal they got goin on. If say they feel The Batman in '22.. that might not come to HBO MAX day 1

The problem is will actors and directors settle for less pay? Maybe. If they have no other choice.

Lol we literally live in a time where we can pause a movie and literally pick back up at the spot we last viewed, whenever we feel. So the running time means nothing unless you are in theaters.
Negged for makin sense and being reasonable

The Irishman was almost 4 hours and I just watched it in 2ish hour chunks over the course of a week. Easy peasy.

Studios are funding these cats movies. Not many places are giving you 8 to 9 figure deals to make movies.

These actors and directors were only concerned with their backend pay kickers which didn't necessarily go away. It was just gonna be lower since the movie theaters are dead right now. People gotta eat, so this solution was the best win to make money right now.

The only one they fukked up on is the Dune movie where Netflix was offering a big bag and AT&T nixed it. Legendary funded most of the movie, not WB, but so that one will be interesting. I think Godzilla vs King Kong was the same too.

I’m thinking Marvel will be in a bind this year unless they’re willing to push back a bunch of movies again. I don’t think Legendary Films would be willing to wait unless they are properly compensated. They will probably make up box office numbers of what could have been.

This shyt is sad. I’m a movie buff. I’m willing to stream, but to me it just cheapens the art.

when I saw Greenland at home, I literally skipped thru several parts just to speed things up.

but i guess the masses, don’t value going to the movies. Studios rely heavily on word of mouth, and marketing. It’s an event to many.

Comparing that poster to the theatrical release JLA movie poster it looks like Snyder is firing shots.

A 4-hour movie covers about as much material as a 250 page book. You can easily take that long to tell a good story, phones and shyt just have folk with no fukking attention span.
I don’t know, people attention span been short before cell phones. That’s a long ass time to sit still. Movie better have Quentin Tarantino dialogue with micheal bay action.

I think it's gotten worse though. Gone With the Wind, Lawrence of Arabia, The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur were all between 3.5 and 4 hours long. And they're considered all-time Hollywood classics. Even the Lord of the Rings movies were long as fukk (especially the extended cuts) and people loved them. That wasn't very long ago.

yall always wanna talk about who may or may not wanna watch something thats 3 hours or 4 hours who cares about that shyt :mjlol:

film room said the same shyt about The Irishman.
Come on y’all can’t do that.

If this isn’t worth a complaint then how long does a movie have to be before people are allowed to be skeptical about its runtime?

Sometimes just sometimes there is merit to people’s complaints. 4 hours is a long time for a remix of a movie we already seen, a story that already been told. You can’t expect people to actually be excited for a four hour remix.

It’s one thing to be optimistic but this situation deserves the skepticism. And if it’s good then I will be the first to say I was wrong but don’t act like people are being irrational with their complaints.
