My bad if the link didn't show on mobile. The hyperlink wasn’t showing up on mobile. Thank you. I don’t think those #s say what you do, but thank you providing a source.
To be clear, I’m question the millions of new subscribers based on WW84.

Also I never made a claim about exact figures. I was just saying that from all reports ATT/WB seems happy with the sub numbers they got from WW84.
They already worked out money arrangements with most of the people who were upset with the announcement of all the movies going to HBO Max.WB about to take a huge hit tho. All of the movie they’re releasing on HBO Max didn’t sit right with the people who actually made the movies. So all of them are still going to get paid accordingly. I guess their hope is new subscriptions will offset some of the losses, but some of these films have huge budgets.
what is wrong with you? The guy who posted the link quoted you on the last page and posted it again. I'm done.
You dudes need to learn how to take a loss and move on... The link was posted hours ago. It doesn't matter if you liked the movie or not. The movie increased subs for HBO MAX...
Meanwhile all these other studios are sitting on content that has been finished for years now. HBO/AT&T made the right decision.
HBO is owned by Warner Media/AT&T.
Big budget films depend on box office revenue. They not gonna get nearly enough subscribers to make a profit. They are also losing money with Direct TV and have been trying to get rid of it.
Box office ticket percentages are also negotiated into actor/production contracts. Warner already agreed to pay a minimum amount despite moving forward with movies this year.
Once theaters are back to normal capacity do you really think they will continue with dual releases? Hell no. And they will eventually lose subscriptions.
And they basically released WW 1984 on HBO max for pennies. They didn’t even charge for it as a stand alone product.
They took a risk, but it’s no different than studios pushing back releases in hopes for theaters opening back up.
That's a whole different argument though.my thing is seems happy with and are happy with are 2 different things. Disney is putting up running up on Netflix numbers. From what I can tell AT&T isn’t anywhere close to those numbers. I don’t know that the break even point is for AT&T is, but it doesn’t seem line they’re hitting it, while having to pay out $10 million to stars.

It was posted in the thread about the move.
I think the only real issue they are facing is with a couple of the movies that were a joint production with other studios like Legendary Studios for Dune.
This is the only thing that matters right here
HBO Max gained 4 million new active subs (+46.5%). Fast and loose ballpark math here, but if Max increases by the same number or percentage over the same seven-week period, it’s looking at between 16.5 million-18.5 million activations by February. If we factor in a Wonder Woman 1984 boost, which ANTENNA data seemingly confirms, the platform will likely surpass 20 million activations by AT&T’s Q4 earnings report on January 17. WarnerMedia also reached much-needed distribution deals with Amazon Fire and Roku in recent weeks, which combine to service 80 million U.S. users. The potential subscriber pie is growing

projections and no link you bytch.
