General consensus seems to be the movie has some rushed pacing (likely due to WB's runtime mandate causing a lot to be cut) and a weak plot that's saved if you're into the characters.

Basically sounds like a decent popcorn flick to throw on during a rainy day. Which is where I put most superhero flicks, so I'll probably enjoy myself.

As hard as they try, the DCEU films will always be limited by its shaky foundation. WB wanting to play catchup with Marvel is really coming back to haunt them. Instead of focusing on tighter stories, they have to throw multiple storylines and introduce new characters into single films. There was no need for them to rush and do a Justice League movie with so little groundwork. DC still has the two most popular superheroes ever with Batman and Superman. They would’ve made just as much money if not more than Marvel doing standalone, focused movies on one superhero that would’ve given their characters enough proper development for Justice League.

Imo, they should’ve done a proper Man of Steel sequel, then a standalone Batman flick establishing his DCEU persona, then a standalone Wonder Woman film. Then do either Aquaman or a Flash solo movie, THEN do Batman v. Superman, THEN do Justice League. Just would’ve made their storylines a lot more focused and less convoluted and it would’ve given the filmmakers more freedom to focus on a tight story rather than having to throw in plot elements that should’ve been handled in their own standalone films. Ya’ll can throw in feminism all ya’ll want but the real reason why Wonder Woman is the most successful DCEU film up to date is because it has the tightest, most focused storyline and is committed to one character, not forcing a rushed, shared universe.

Looking at the leaked scenes.
What in the ever loving fukk changed from the masterpiece godlike CGI in Man of Steel to this?
BvS CGI was underwhelming too.
What gives?

That's why MoS was the best of them, imo.
It was one story and stayed focused on that one story.
BvS was a convoluted mess, with multiple plot lines that isn't possible to fit within 2 hours. I hear this film suffers from much of the same.
This isn't the Witcher 3.

I still maintain that they didn't need individual movies for all of them. I think it's possible that some characters could be cameos/ supporting IF they could be brief/not reach for why they're there. I am however agreeing that they do need a plan.

This. I think DC/Warner thought that a Nolan produced Superman movie would be as well received as his Batman movies, when that didn't happen they panicked. I think they had every intention of doing it that way initially but when you see the comp raking in a billy on the team-up tip and releasing multiple movies a year they felt the pressure Marvel was applying.
