Saw it last night at the court St theater in Brooklyn.....GREAT movie imo. It definitely held up. Overall, I'd give it an A and I thought it was a GREAT prequel to something like the Dark Knight's version with Heath ledger

One thing I wasn't clear about though....and that was

Was Thomas Wayne really his father? Or was that a lie that his mother told him?

There were adoption papers and everything. I’m thinking that the mother was legit insane and Arthur isn’t related to Wayne at all. I saw Wayne as being someone who probably thought he was “above” sleeping with the help

This movie is in the mindset of a mentally ill person...

I feel like every scenario was told from the perspective of someone who has no connection with reality...

The movie is disturbing.

I will never recommend this movie to anyone.

The only reason this movie got made was because they attached the Joker character.

just finished seeing it. Story was empty to me, basically pick a school shooter manifesto and add some dialogue. Acting was cool, as were the ties to Batman. Besides that, nothing special.

The white male propaganda was very blatant :mjlol:that final dialogue about what’s funny and acceptable and whats not was supposed to be a middle finger to SJWs and “snowflakes”. I liked Joaquin Phoenix but he wasn’t given much to work with.

nikkas trying too hard.. film was empty ? lmaoo okay

fukking idiots comparing Joker roles. Proving they miss the point big time:snoop:

This movie is legendary status. So many details and welldone tidbits

Reminded me of 1999 when I watched the Fight Club premiere in the ole theatre round my way:ohlawd:

What, exactly, was so fulfilling about this movie? It was a showcase of Joaquin Phoenix more than an actual thought-provoking film.

1) Masterful performance by Phoneix
2) Great touchings to different ideas that could or could not exist (did he kill Sophia, was he really rescued from the police car etc)
3) Environment that actually felt like Gotham
3) p*ssy ass pompous craccas being clapped up :wow:
4) Film of the year, deal with it :umad:

Yup that’s my thinking. But even then, that could all be BS

U srs? The theme of loneliness and neglection didn't catch your eye at all?
:mjlol: Neglect of what? He was a weirdo, which is why he didn’t have any friends. He wasn’t getting beat up for the sake of being beat up; he was a freak. They spent 2 minutes explaining his mother was crazy, and then he smothered her with a pillow.

This film did nothing to make me feel the plight of mental health because it wasn’t sincere. It was a plot device.

the tie-in to Batman was one of the only redeeming aspects of the movie. It’s far from film of the year, and you fan boys will be crying about the “PC” media when it goes winless at the Oscars.

The whole “is this really happening or is it a dream?” Approach is something you can do with damn near every movie if you wanted to. People did the same thing with The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, etc.
