Saw it last night at the court St theater in Brooklyn.....GREAT movie imo. It definitely held up. Overall, I'd give it an A and I thought it was a GREAT prequel to something like the Dark Knight's version with Heath ledger

One thing I wasn't clear about though....and that was

Was Thomas Wayne really his father? Or was that a lie that his mother told him?

Some people consider it up to debate. The actor the played Thomas said he think Thomas put her in the mental hospital.

After a second serving, I have to increase my rating on this...joker is a masterpiece. a masterclass work by the director and actor

because I saw an interview with JP and he said after the movie his family had an argument on what it was about and asked him and he said its whatever you want it to be :wow:

the genius of the film is it is left up to the audience to decide what is real or not so every person can have a different take on the film and not be wrong, and that is exactly the essence of what joker is
to be able to execute that perfectly is hard to do, for any film period

idk know what is real tbh, the only thing im sure of is when he was laughing at the end of the movie, was because bruce waynes parents died bc of jokers actions. they showed the clip of wayne standing alone in the alley while joker was laughing so it must mean something

I dont remember is this was a different multi verse joker or a fan theory but it was kinda dope. Joker was really a demon or Trickster type god like Loki that was obsessed with batman and his moral code thats why he never killed him but would basically push him to that limit to where he finally says fukk it and snaps his neck

:ohhh:

I know in Injustice supes finally snaps and does it fukking up the universe in the process so i guess thats similar to his death being a catalyst for true chaos

:wow:

This is what I just told my friend. If I think of it as a comic book movie or a joker origin movie I don’t really like it, but damn when you start to think about Joaquin Phoenix acting :wow:

The more I stop thinking of it as a dc comics character movie the more I like it :ohhh:
Good point. At the same time... There were a few camera shots that were straight comic book status... Like the shot of him at the bottom of the stairwell after he stole his mother's papers from the hospital

This is a very dope flick. It's gorgeous, the performances are all incredible, especially Joaquin. There were moments when I was genuinely terrified of what he'd do in a scene even when I knew what was going to happen. I'm thinking of a few scenes towards the end of the movie in particular.

There's a nice theme of the joker being a symbol and someone people can rally around, making him the inverse of batman. But the movie shows its main character has no desire to do that or be any kind of political symbol. Man says he doesn't believe in anything. He's merely using people's anger and fear and resentment for his own purposes, which is the most joker thing of all.

I don't believe the movie is ever truly on Arthur's side. Yeah he's had a rough life but he's clearly fukked and sociopathic. And he's the hero of this story so of course he gets the sympathetic moments, but his actions are never actually "rewarded" or even framed to look beautiful. He doesn't get any "hero" shots and the ones that could even be thought of as hero shots are weird and disjointed. Almost laughable actually. The movie wants you to laugh at the guy as much as laugh with him.

Sadly the movie is relevant to our current times but it's also not interested in the answers to those times. The questions are more interesting than the answers, because that's the joker. He doesn't want answers he just wants to keep asking questions and fukk around.

Great great movie, but I will not be seeing it again:russ::wow:

Aight I have some questions.

Is JOAQUIN’s shoulder fukked up like that in real life? Brehs shyt was looking dislocated.

How was Joker able to ask for his mom’s medical records in the first place? It doesn’t work like that.

Why the fukk was young Bruce by himself and letting a strange man put his hands in his mouth? :dahell:
