There were plenty of comedic fukked up moments imo. People laughed all throughout the movie and not at him but stuff he did and things that happened or said by Arthur. fukked up but true joker shyt. I loved it and plan on trying to watch it again.

I don’t know how I feel about this movie. It was slow in some parts but I wanted to know what’s gonna happen.

Just left. Movie was cool. I prefer Ledger’s performance better tho. Only because I prefer Joker when he’s already in villain mode and bringing chaos to Batman’s world.
This movie probably could’ve worked without having any ties to DC. It’s just a story of a dude who hits his breaking point. All the other stuff is secondary

I recently just watched The Shape of Water
That film is absolutely TERRIBLE
One of the most pretentious films I have seen in recent memory
in the mid 70's and late 70's.
Movie was aight. Its one of those movies where the main actor basically carries a mediocre script on his shoulders.
Phoenix was DAMN good. But he always kills these type of roles.
I could see the “twist” with Zazie Beatz to the point where I was wondering if it was even supposed to shock the audience. Even the most wenchiest black woman ain’t gonna be flirting with a stalker and letting that decrepit looking freak fukk her.
Also i think the Thomas Wayne stuff was unnecessary. The movie would have been stronger had they cut that part put and not
Forced in the Batman mythology stuff.
But I will say everything from the point where he kills the co-worker to talk show climax was pretty good.
Also i’m finding it very hard these days to connect with White protagonist characters. Especially these down trodden put upon White “outcasts”. But thats a personal thing.
Objectively this movie is a 7.5/10. I’ll give Phoenix performance a 9/10. Ledger is still the best Joker in my eyes.

This really needs to tie into the new Batman
It’s a good movie. I still think it originally wasn’t written to be about the joker. I think it was changed because someone at Warner was smart enough to turn it into a Joker prequel after Suicide Squad was panned. “Call the city Gotham. Throw in the Wayne family”. I’m more annoyed that instead of fixing their DC universe, they give up on it and make a non canon movie just to try to snag another Oscar
