Yeah, I do this as well, but with series like Infamous, where you have to advance the story a bit to unlock more abilities, I'll get a few abilities before doing the side mission stuff. For a while last night, I found myself just scouring the city and collecting shards and doing a random side mission every 1/2 hour or so and then I thought to myself that I HAVE TO get that Neon ability already so I started pushing thru the story missions real quick so I could unlock it before going to bed. Glad I did ultimately. The neon power is really fun. I do wish you could change powers or rather even combine them somehow easier, but it's not a huge grip to me.

also I'm leaving this thread now because that was a spoiler for me
it's some shyt that gives you karma and opens up other side missions in game....you go to the website, create an account, then take a couple quizzes on some game related/fake infamous websites...I did that yesterday, today they let me link my psn account to it, so it's unlocked the other missions in the game for me....as you complete things, it shows on your paper trail account, and you get more karma...it seems to be multiple parts, cause it has 'part 1' over this long as list for me right now....
tip about the site: the site is bootleg as hell...when you type in infamouspapertrail, you might get a '404 not found' message...if you do, just keep hitting refresh until it pops up...that shyt has worked for me so far...

Oh, my bad, but I thought both the neon power and how you acquire it was a given knowledge since it's been shown in vids for the past 6 months or so. I take it you did a media blackout on the game or something?

If you've redeemed the code and installed it, it shows up as a reg. side mission item somewhere on the map. Once you get there, it'll be titled 'Cole's Legacy'.
cool...that was me...after I opened up the first part of the city, every time I ran into a district and it said '100% under dup control', I thought to myself: fukk it, I got work to do...so I started putting in work lol...I cant wait to try out the neon power...i mean, the smoker one is fun as hell, but yall raving about it, so now i'm interested...
oh yea, did you use the headphones last night?..... I did and holy shyt...that shyt sounds glorious...I mean, you could hear every lil thing...footsteps, muthafukkas blasting music in they cars, gun shots from far away, etc....i'm still play through my home theater, but damn, I kinda cant wait for the late night sessions to throw those things back on...

Yeah, you right. The site is bootleg as hell, as I just checked it out and it did take me like 10 tries to get to it successfully. Funny enough, I wonder if they set that shyt up like that intentionally to go along with that sort of searching theme.

Yeah, I played with the headphones for about a little over 1/2 of my play time. I kept switching between them and my home theater (I have a 7.1 system) when the fam was making too much noise and I was missing dialog moments. When they finally all started going to bed, I played for about 3 hours with the headphones. They're quite comfy and it's good that right out the box, they seem to come with a full charge. Imma need a charging station or something though soon, with having 2 sets of headsets and 2 DS4s. The quad having only 2 usb ports is a bit of a blow to me, considering that I bought the OG 60 gig PS3 that had 4 usb ports. Most computers and laptops have at least 3 or 4 ports.
oh yea, couple other thoughts:
- how yall cats digging this game, but hating on infamous 2?....besides the graphics, the shyt's are a lot alike...even down to how the city citizens interact with you....the pacing of the story is better in second son, but the games are a lot alike....
- when talking about this game/series, i dont see how people say all you do is run around in a circle and push attack button....if that's what they do, they killing the game for themselves...
- another example showing why i dont listen to reviews: adam sessler...if you listen to his review, then play the game, you will see his complaints were bullshyt...only real complaint I have so far with the game is the climbing...it's a lil harder and less responsive than in the first infamous games...i'm guessing that's cause they don't want you to climb like before...that's cool, I just miss jumping on the side of a building and getting to where I got to be...

I don't think they expected the volume they probably getting...I mean, there isn't a reg edition of the game yet, there's only collectors and limited...so everyone that buys the game is getting that insert and more than likely hitting the site up...
once you get in though, the shyt is wild...did you take the quizzes yet?....
