Edit: loved the monsters, Vera Farmiga’s character was retarded and so was the daughter lmao. Loved the ending scene with all the monsters but otherwise pretty action packed but still meh.

This is also the first time Godzilla and Mothra have teamed up since Destroy All Monsters (1969). People may say that happened in Godzilla: Final Wars but she was totally clocked in on Gigan. Still, I wonder, will she be in Godzilla vs. Kong.

This movie was gotdamn horrible. I hated every fukking human on screen. The scientists could pilot jets, track Godzilla and crack jokes. The soldiers were everywhere at once. The wife scientist had the dumbest reason of all time for her actions. The daughter was even worse. Made no sense.

Monster zero looked like shyt compared to Godzilla.

I liked the Roman flying scenes. Fight scenes in general were good.

Glad I saw a matinee.

I almost pulled a @track 1 and walked out 15 minutes into the movie, then twice more in the first half hour.
I did eventually get up and leave with about 30 minutes left, got to the lobby and figured I may as well stay to see the final fight and went back after 10 minutes and watch it off principle.

It's like they wrote this movie in dubbed english, if that makes sense. Like the dialogue feels like it was written in a different language and then badly translated by an ESL student.

The first film was at least coherent.

This movie was basically a mix of the first Godzilla and Skull Island.

The first Godzilla took itself serious. Skull Island didn't. This movie tried to do both. at times.

And the trailers tried to make it seem like it was a dark and serious movie.

This was a Godzilla film made for Godzilla fans. They actually tried to listen to everyones complaints which was a bad idea. People never know what the fukk they want.

Which is why Brian Collins wrote the article asking do people even like Godzilla movies or just like the idea of Godzilla movies. Fans said the first movie was too serious and didn’t show enough Godzilla. Cool. Second movie tries to balance that tone and shows every single monster. Damned if you do damned if you don’t.
