Y’all tore him up already for his stupidity so Imma give Godfrey some grace because he doesn’t seem too tech savvy or gamed up. Bruh only know how to log onto IG lol. He smashed a lot of women but that doesn’t mean he is hip to game. He is still a square ass dude who can get played by a chick with a little info and like they said, these romance scams are common and do get some folks caught up.
At least he ain’t give the 188 bands then find out about the scam. He wouldn’t be able to live that L down. He woulda been forced to settle down and get a wife

What was Godfrey so scared of coming to light that it'd end his career (or at least his black woman fan base would turn on him)?...
That's the REAL story here.
I'm also calling bs on the "I got Catfish'd" story , there seemed to be a lot of damage control going on in that episode , like they discussed what they'd reveal before they did the Podcast .
There were moments where Dante would ask a very simple question and Godfrey would just blow it off.
My theory , he's either on drugs (highly unlikely ) or his porn/sex addiction led him down some very "MeToo'able escapades, especially on the road.
He's waaaaaaay too scared for an "innocent" man.

If there were, would the black owners tolerate a white comedian disrespecting them? Hell, should any owners tolerate someone using their platform, and not respecting them? It’s business. You can’t say and do whatever you want in life.

I think a few things had Godfrey trippin.
1. His distant family reaching out to him and him realizing he is 50 with no legacy outside of his comedy career. He was born and raised in America but as an African, I'm sure he is embarrassed that he completely ignored his African heritage throughout his life besides repping being Nigerian. After a certain age, you are an outlier if you don't have children or a family. It can get lonely.
2. He really thought he might get MeToo'd even if he hasn't done anything criminal. A simple accusation that is a lie can ruin A LOT of opportunities. Deals and projects can be axed off accusations alone. I didn't watch all those IG lives he did during the pandemic but if he was really wilding in some of them, that had him shook too. I remember he told a story on his podcast a couple of years ago about this chick at the gym acting like he was stalking her. Bruh is realizing the longer you are single as a celeb, the more likely you are gonna get MeToo'd out here by these funky chicks. He needs to get women to sign NDAs. Leo doing something right.
3. He mentioned how a lot of people don't like him so I think he finally realized how his personality can rub people off the wrong way. If a woman came out to accuse him of anything, these people will immediately believe it and support a campaign to cancel him. Comedians want to be accepted and loved, they usually became funny to hide pain and to get folks to like them.
4. Godfrey is just naive about some things. He is cultured and smart but sometimes those types lack common sense and street smarts. That African scammer had him shook
Dante had to be there to save his green ass. I don't think he wanted to go deeper into the situation because it's embarrassing. That last video was a 1 of 1, dude tried to show that scammer that he was a changed man. I know he wishes he never did that podcast.

I've heard Godfrey make a LOT of anti African remarks in regards to Nigeria, so I'm not surprised he hasn't been there much.
There was that episode when him and his boy (the comic who got rich off the Tracy Morgan accident payout ) had these super sexy entitled bimbos on the podcast , and were really acting like they had ZERO game ...those chicks were waaaaaaay too comfortable

Yep I've noticed how Godfrey interacts with women. He gets women off his humor, looks and fame which is more than enough but he lacks the game regular dudes learn to bag women. Stand up comedians have groupies so it's pretty easy for them lol.
Godfrey has been blessed to not look anywhere near his age. I don't know what age he looks but he doesn't look 50+, therefore hopefully he uses his youthful appearance to make this next part of his career, great.
He's still fortunate to be working every week. I can't name many comedians from his era that are still popular

Aight so I'm listening to the COME CLEAN podcast where he acting like he at a confessional pouring out all his sins to the priest. Godfrey fukking up, he was suppose to be the eternal bachelor, knocking down broads on the road to infinity and beyond smh.
He sounds like he just read a Bible for the first time, he think he going to hell for the lifestyle he been living
