Meh but when you doing 2 garfields , osmosis jones he seems to hate GB2 more

Well he also said he took Garfield because he thought one of the coen brothers were directing and writing. It was Ethan Cohen not Ethan coen lol and he signs stuff without looking at scripts at times because he's his own agent. So stuff like that happens to him or he'll just do stuff cause it's fun or of course because he wants to get paid. And often times it's a ghostbusters 2 situation where it's one for me one for you

For no reason at all the studio put all of their eggs in the basket like this shyt was gonna do Marvel numbers. Shot themselves in the foot. They were going for a game changer when anybody with a brain could tell it was just gonna be a successful comedy and nothing more.
The original film only cost about $30 million in 1984. In 2016, that would be about $71 million. So had the original Ghostbusters been made today, it still would've cost less than half of what they made this one for. I don't understand that shyt!

Confronted by tepid box office for the reboot, the studio will instead focus on animated spinoffs.

Immediately upon the opening of Ghostbusters in mid-July, top Sony executives boldly declared a sequel to PaulFeig's all-female reboot of Ivan Reitman's 1984 classic was a given. "While nothing has been officially announced yet, there's no doubt in my mind it will happen," said RoryBruer, president of worldwide distribution at Sony.

That was the studio's last public mention of a sequel. As of Aug. 7, Ghostbusters had earned just under $180 million at the global box office, including $117 million domestic. The film still hasn't opened in a few markets, including France, Japan and Mexico, but box-office experts say it will have trouble getting to $225 million despite a hefty net production budget of $144 million plus a big marketing spend. The studio has said break-even would be $300 million.

Sony hardly is alone in suffering from audience rejection of sequels this summer. But film chief TomRothman and his team, along with partner Village Roadshow, had high hopes for launching a live-action Ghostbusters "universe." Now they are preparing for steep losses (think $70 million-plus) and an uncertain future for the franchise.

Sony won't comment on whether it has banished a sequel to the netherworld, but perhaps tellingly, a rep says the studio actively is pursuing an animated Ghostbusters feature that could hit theaters in 2019 and an animated TV series,Ghostbusters: Ecto Force, which is eyeing an early 2018 bow. Both are being guided by Reitman, who firmly is back in charge of the Ghostbusters empire via Ghost Corps., a subsidiary with a mandate to expand the brand across platforms. (It was former Sony film chief AmyPascalwho first embraced Feig's vision for the live-action reboot, not Reitman or Rothman.) "We're very proud of the bold movie Paul Feig made, which critics and audiences loved," a studio rep tells THR. "It has enlivened a 30-year-old brand and put it into the modern zeitgeist. As a result, we have many ideas in the works to further exploit the Ghostbustersuniverse."

Feig hasn't said whether he'll return. Stars MelissaMcCarthy, KristenWiig, LeslieJones and KateMcKinnon are said to be signed for two potential sequels, and initially they said they were game. But now? "Ghostbusters is on ice until further notice," says box-office analyst JeffBock. "I just can't fathom the creative talents behind it — Feig, McCarthy, Wiig, etc. — slogging out another one when the reception to the first one was so mediocre."

Sony disputes the amount of the potential loss, insisting that revenue streams from merchandising and such attractions as a new Ghostbusters exhibit at Madame Tussauds and a theme park ride in Dubai will help defray any deficit. The studio also notes that the number of people renting the 1984 film has soared over the summer.

"This loss calculation is way off," says the Sony rep. "With multiple revenue streams, including consumer products, gaming, location-based entertainment, continued international rollout, and huge third-party promotional partnerships that mitigated costs, the bottom line, even before co-financing, is not remotely close to that number."

This is really the only good thing to have come from all this mess. More people are talking about the original.

The first third of the movie was horrible. The middle third was ok I guess and the last third I enjoyed. If they did make a sequel I'd watch.

I avoided it for so long because I didn't want to ruin my memories for the originals and the animated series. So I peeped it on Halloween. The first 30 minutes was really bad, like cringe-worthy. Then as it went along, it got better and the spirit of Ghostbusters was there. The weapons were off the chain. I also thought all the cameos were funny but I still think they should of did a direct sequel. It was basically Ghostbusters 3 masked as a Reboot. Chris's character was corny as sh!t though and the villian wasn't great. The Climax saved the movie becuase them all fighting the ghost was dope. Slimmer had me laughing too, lol. I know it lost a ton of money but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Leslie character wasn't that well written and yes she was the "Loud/Sassy" Black Sterotype and she should of been a scientist. Melissa and Kristen did OK. When it is over, I was like. OK, with a better screenplay I could see this crew again. The SNL chick Kate I liked best. Something about her fit the most into the Ghostbusters universe espeically with those Glasses. It was like she could of been Egon's Daughter. I still feel the route they should of took is Ol' girl being Egon's or Venkman's daughter. The Ghostbusters would of been disbanded for 20 years and a new threat brings the new crew and old crew out of retirement to help. It would of been a great passing of the torch. Not better than 1 or 2 but not the worst movie on the planet either. They did good on some of the Nostalgic elements.

Its really not that bad. it is painfully average. For them to be throwing joke after joke out. I've only belly laughed like once. The original brought more humor through levity
