7 The Bay-esque scenes were the only reason this isn't worse than 5. The story telling was absolutely terrible.

I think the 7th was the worst cause they rushed some things a lot and there were some absolute :snoop: moments like
when they used Benjen Stark literally as a deus ex machina, like a fukking card in some board game, a get out of jail card...
also it really felt that it is kinda just a setup for the grand finale and maybe the first time since the start of the series you could feel exactly which characters have plot armour on, also it turned into some epic fantasy with good and bad sides increasingly separated from each other while in the earlier seasons it was more of a political fantasy with everybody except from a few being at least a bit bad.

I like the 6th very much, my favorite episode was Battle of the b*stards

The series is going back to Age Of Heroes when the supernatural forces(Chiefly the Long Night) threat against humanity made petty conflicts take a back seat.

But then again, if prophecy is to be believed, it's the petty conflicts and deaths that fulfill the prophecies regarding the fate of humanity.

I rewatch from jump every year.. It truly is amazing how this show just flipped the script.. but really didn't

starts off, first scene, with the white walkers.. Then they just let you forget about it until damn near episode 7... I'm watching with this girl for her first time. She completely forgot about them. I'm thinking to myself, we haven't even got to magic, faceless men, dragons, wars, deceptions, or even the walkers true numbers

Watching season 1 and watching season 7 is like two different shows. But it was always about the white walkers. But also, never about them :mindblown:
