"Now" signified it was time to charge. That's when Smalljon Umber did the "Who runs the north?" speech it had nothing to do with them closing them in, anyone with common sense and battle training which they all had would know to use that wall to their advantage, but there's no way they could plan to make that wall cause there's no way to know how the battle would play out. And in the inside the episode they specifically talk about the battle being random and the arrows falling randomly, doesn't sound like something they'd say if Ramsay meant to use his archers to build that wall.

The Carthaginians used a pincer movement, which is what Jon and Davos talked about, which is circling ur opponent like Stannis did to the Wildlings, and during the Civil War bodies piled so high they became an obstruction, the writers blended those together and talked about both in the inside the episode, go rewatch it. Ramsay's men blended the pincer movement with the obstruction of bodies.

I hate when people just make things up. It was pre-planned. This isn't modern warfare most battles were preplanned and not much changed during those battles, because you couldn't communicate with whole legions like you can today.

There would be no reason for Ramsay to put arrows in his own men , except he want a pile of bodies between himself and Jon's army

Roose did this same tactic at Green Fork.

A flight of arrows descended on them; where they came from he could not say, but they fell on Stark and Lannister alike, rattling off armor or finding flesh. (AGOT, Tyrion VIII)

“My liege, we have taken some of their commanders. Lord Cerwyn, Ser Wylis Manderly, Harrion Karstark, four Freys. Lord Hornwood is dead, and I fear Roose Bolton has escaped us.” (AGOT, Tyrion VIII)

did the same tactic except he lost the battle and was able to escape

You're making things up, you're imagining what Ramsay planned offscreen. Everything I said was confirmed by the writers.

And you're putting book quotes up about Roose's men firing arrows recklessly, I never argued against Ramsay firing arrows recklessly with no concern for his men. Nothing in that quote even hints at piling up bodies on purpose, where as what I said is confirmed by the writers of the show. Point out where in that quote it gives the slightest hint that Roose had his men fire recklessly to stack bodies up, better yet show me where it even says Roose was the one responsible for those arrows falling on Stark and Lannister men. That's a Tyrion POV chapter.

David Benioff actually said "during the Civil War you read about bodies piling so high they became an obstruction" almost verbatim but nothing about it being a strategy then or in the show, and DB Weiss spoke about the Carthaginians and the pincer movement and said almost exactly what I posted. I'm not making that shyt up.

I wonder if all the big families are just gonna end up fukking killing each other and then the frozen cacs just take over the world :dead:

final shot of the whole show is jon snow turning into a whitewalker :dead:
and then he spits some cheesy ass line like 'winter is here':dead:

what if the ice cacs turn a dragon into a ice dragon :mindblown:
what if the fukking hound is the saviour of all mankind :mindblown:
what if tyrion is the saviour of all mankind:mindblown:
what if jamie smashes danaerys :mindblown:
so many fukking theories :mindblown:

As far as Littlefinger:russell:

I could not be less interested in his Rube Goldberg-esque "chess moves" at this point in the series, with 15 episodes left. The whole point of securing Winterfell was to ready the North against the White Walkers. If they waste time with LF trying to become Warden Of The North or whatever political bullshyt he's up to, I'm going to put a foot through my TV. shyt was entertaining 2-3 seasons ago, we don't got time for all that now.

Fred.
Good point Fred.

I expect the dynamic to make a dramatic shift to accommodate the Long Night and a world really enveloped in it...whatever political machinations come out of it should be reactive to an entirely new reality created out of the White Walkers' return.
For those who missed the point of this gif.

Look at the and how it wiggles, it's a mistake :heh:

Guess that valyrian steel can't get up like it used too :troll:

I'll always be more interested in the political fukkery than the fantasy fukkery. :yeshrug:

Bring on more Littlefinger chaos is a ladder maneuvering. More Tyrion, Varys, Margery, Olenna, Sansa too. If the shyt just turns into one big CG battle fest for the last 15 episodes, then:camby:
My thoughts exactly... GOT is great because of the intrigue and politics, If I wanted to watch zombie fukkery I would just watch Walking dead.
