The actor who plays Davos said Davos doesnt yet know what happened with Stannis and Mel and Shireens burning. He would have never left if he thought Stannis would burn her. The interviewer asked if Davos would find out and he answered that it would be bad storytelling if they didnt.

Based on that and something the actress playing Mel said im sure they wont gloss over it.

I will never believe that Davos had the slightest clue they intended to kill Shireen. Hell he got sentenced to death for freeing Gendry. If he'll put his life on the line for a b*stard he just met he damn sure ain't letting Shireen get merked. He would've threw hands with Stannis over that shyt.

This is what I'm saying. He knows Stannis would likely do something desperate when the chips were down. Stannis still had a relatively strong army at that point, and just needed some decent days. There's still nothing completely desperate about the situation, besides food concerns.

Idk. I'm leaning that Davos knows something went down, but iffy on Melisandre's involvement, since she refused to talk to him when she came back. He has a more pressing concern now. I'm sure, had Jon not been murdered, he would've forced the issue on finding out things more. I do know he knows Stannis was defeated and something fatal likely happened to the family he forced with him.

I agree usually they've been boring to me but this ep was great

It deserves a lot of hate for how short the actual episode was, but this is still the strongest 1st episode in the series so far. They're usually real boring with a lot of set up going and last season shoelace tying. This time, it wasn't done so much, but the left a lot of meat uncooked in the unused 15 mins. That could've been a Littlefinger fukkery checkup.

It think it was mostly the book readers who were complaining. I found the shyt redemption to the do nothing Dorne porn we got in Season 5. People who've got into the show from the books may have found their actions redundant or unnecessary, because Doran was already scheming on Lannister revenge, through a stronger means of success. It was stupid to kill him.

I waa trying to rewatch the ep and I just hated it too much. It wasnt True Detective Season 2 disappointing, but I was disappointed.
