V Steel is said to be forged by Dragon Fire and Magic. That's why people are saying the dragons will play a big part in killing the white walkers.

From what I've read wild Dragons grew larger than those owned by the houses, right now Drogon is wild and untamed, he looks massive compared to his siblings.
