Arya getting the full horror journey was amazing.
She's spent the whole series learning about death but in a one-on-one, righteous assassination, by any means necessary, all-men-must-die way... then she saw the horror of a city getting sacked, saw the difference between inevitable death and mindless suffering of innocents and it got her emotional... she nearly lost herself but a girl managed to say NOT TODAY and dipped on her friend the pale horse so she can get her blood back to its usual chill and repay the debt the many-faced God has been chasing since Jorah fukked up the poisoning.
A girl is coming for that ass, lizardbytch.

None of the people Aegon burned had surrendered. That is a defining aspect of his conquest. He readily absorbed people into his kingdom that surrendered. Gave them titles, let them keep their lands and culture, and he even adapted some of their culture.
When Aegon burned Harrenhall, the vast majority of the lords and commoners under Harren's rule had turned against Harren and defected to Aegon. Partially because of Aegon's "mercy", which he even extended to Harren himself before they ran to their castle.
Dany is the only Targ that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Not even Maegor The Cruel accomplished that feat.
