That's exactly what you're doing though. Chances are you would have been unable to identify Damar Hamlin if he were standing behind you at Walmart before this play. But the fact that a self-admitted troll posed a valid question (which millions of other people were thinking) has you out if sorts. Waiting until Wednesday or Thursday to talk about the ramifications of the game being cancelled would do absolutely nothing to better that player's chances of recovering from a terrible injury.
It's the cognitive dissonance of being confronted with that man's health being put in jeopardy by the same game that entertains people that causes this.
Basic human decency demands people say something about this but deep down they have no issue being entertained by the same violent game that caused it.
Just as long as they don't have to see the immediate consequences of the violent game they enjoy impact a human life people can easily go on enjoying that which caused it. Out of sight and out of mind. Just don't make me confront directly that which I enjoy is fundamentally wrong. Let me just sit back and enjoy it and other people can deal with the long term fallout of it.
That's why it's all hypocrisy. People who deep down don't care condemn others who don't care and pat themselves on the back because doing so makes them feel like they care.
How many people watched that play and said I can't support this sport anymore and how many people watched and deep down thought that's tragic but can't wait for next week's games to see who gets in the playoffs and this will be sorted out by then.
