Easy work

They need a strong undercard

I'm glad Khan didn't get the fight, although I think Mayweather-Khan would have been more interesting. He just didn't deserve it. You know Team Mayweather/GBP WANTS to give Khan the fight, but they can't justify doing it. All Khan has to do is win a big fight.

This shouldn't be a surprise because Maidana has been on TMT's radar prior to the Broner fight

This was Mayweather's six approved opponents for his contract
http://www.boxingnews24.com/2013/02...ents-for-six-fight-contract-with-showtimecbs/

Showtime list
Robert Guerrero
Marcos Maidana

Alfredo Angulo
Danny Garcia
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez
Devon Alexander

He's stuck to that list so far.

One thing about Mayweather is when he makes a "hit list," he stays committed to it. In 2009, GBP gave the following names as Mayweather's hitlist when he came out of retirement
http://www.boxingscene.com/mayweathers-hit-list-includes-pacquiao-mosley-cotto--20017

If people thought Floyd Mayweather Jr. was going to return for a payday or two and then head back into retirement, they are very mistaken. Mayweather returns to the ring on July 18 against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Floyd has been away from the ring since a December 07 knockout of Ricky Hatton.

Since Mayweather’s return, we’ve heard the constant mention of the infamous “hit list” that Floyd provided to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. Speaking exclusively with BoxingScene.com’s Luis Sandoval, Schaefer disclosed some of the names on Floyd’s hit list. Manny Pacquiao was an obvious name. Others like Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto are there too. And even a potential fight the down the road with junior welterweight Victor Ortiz, who many view as a future superstar in the sport."

2009 List
JMM
Pacquaio
Mosley
Cotto
Ortiz

With the exception of Pacquaio, all these fights have happened.

When I look at the current showtime list, Garcia is definitely an option. I thought Angulo's name being on the list was ridiculous at the time, but if he were to beat Canelo, who knows. I just can't really see Mayweather moving up to 154 again unless it was a big name, but he's on the list.

It would be quite impressive if things worked itself out & he stuck to those names on that list Team Mayweather originally submitted to Showtime.

:ehh:

This is a tough fight for a 37 year old. Probably gonna be easy work for Money but Maidana scares me. I seriously think dude would be a drug cartel kingpin or an assassin if he wasnt boxing

Matthysse-Thurman would make this buy worthy. Thinking Thurman would finish what Garcia started and finish it inside 12.
Broner about to see the real differences between him and Floyd.

Yo how did Broner lose that Maidana fight. I'm watching these Maidana highlights like :dahell: Broner just didn't look prepared to fight

it was gonna happen..the second broner arrived at the press conference looking fat and out of shape within 6 weeks of the fight it was :snoop: for me

if maidana actually beats floyd...the fukkery would be legendary...dude will be a legend in argentina for the rest of his life

This is awesome.

This can only help Floyds legacy to the casuals. Casuals watched Chino dismantle a guy who was being compared to Floyd. Now watch Floyd tell the world why he only can be Floyd.

I'd be fronting if I didn't want to see a major upset though. Chinos looping hook:whew:

I'll be surprised if Marcos wins 1 or 2 rounds much less the fight. I see Floyd with a unanimous decision.
