They need a strong undercard

I'm glad Khan didn't get the fight, although I think Mayweather-Khan would have been more interesting. He just didn't deserve it. You know Team Mayweather/GBP WANTS to give Khan the fight, but they can't justify doing it. All Khan has to do is win a big fight.

This shouldn't be a surprise because Maidana has been on TMT's radar prior to the Broner fight

This was Mayweather's six approved opponents for his contract

Showtime list
Robert Guerrero
Marcos Maidana

Alfredo Angulo
Danny Garcia
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez
Devon Alexander

He's stuck to that list so far.

One thing about Mayweather is when he makes a "hit list," he stays committed to it. In 2009, GBP gave the following names as Mayweather's hitlist when he came out of retirement
http://www.boxingscene.com/mayweathers-hit-list-includes-pacquiao-mosley-cotto--20017

If people thought Floyd Mayweather Jr. was going to return for a payday or two and then head back into retirement, they are very mistaken. Mayweather returns to the ring on July 18 against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Floyd has been away from the ring since a December 07 knockout of Ricky Hatton.

Since Mayweather’s return, we’ve heard the constant mention of the infamous “hit list” that Floyd provided to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. Speaking exclusively with BoxingScene.com’s Luis Sandoval, Schaefer disclosed some of the names on Floyd’s hit list. Manny Pacquiao was an obvious name. Others like Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto are there too. And even a potential fight the down the road with junior welterweight Victor Ortiz, who many view as a future superstar in the sport."

2009 List
JMM
Pacquaio
Mosley
Cotto
Ortiz

With the exception of Pacquaio, all these fights have happened.

When I look at the current showtime list, Garcia is definitely an option. I thought Angulo's name being on the list was ridiculous at the time, but if he were to beat Canelo, who knows. I just can't really see Mayweather moving up to 154 again unless it was a big name, but he's on the list.

It would be quite impressive if things worked itself out & he stuck to those names on that list Team Mayweather originally submitted to Showtime.

That makes me wonder...if Angulo was on the list, would they consider Lara for September or beyond?

And I'm definitely buying the PPV if Thurman/Matthysse goes down...

Been a Chino fan since he had Ortiz rethinking his career path. I'm just happy he about to get this check. Good for him. He earned it.

AB needs to be on this undercard fighting at 140 and Khan should fight Alexander or Porter

porter beats khan and you know i think alexander too. I think AB and khan should fight. AB just needs that one hitter and he's so accurate too so it would be a good luck. But he would need to let his hands go for this one, its a good bout for him to learn.
