Yeah well my point was the blatant bias neither were ppv worthy but people are only honest about one. It was a cool card but I saw it for free, no way I would have paid money for this especially after all these high quality pbc feast we've been getting lately. I'm good.
I don't disagree about this card not really being PPV worthy, was just pointing out why some people might find it more palatable to pay for this over Floyd/Berto.

I recall reading something when the fight was first announced about Oscar letting Lemieux know about the offer to fight Golovkin and that Lemieux immediately jumped at the chance.
cant blame lemieux..he had a champion resolve..he wanted to take another belt and vice versa...unification was on their minds...it was some good shyt

Just sounds like the groundwork was being laid for him to pick on smaller cats who've cut their teeth as potential Floyd opponents and got a name for themselves.....all while stalling out any bigger fighters clamoring for him to move up and see them. No guy weighing 170 should be setting his sights on "smaller" guys. And Max and HBO are embarrassing for even pushing the narrative.
I'd buy that if he was the lineal champ or holding all the important belts, but he's not. If the winner of Cotto/Canelo vacates and GGG wins it against whoever, and then STILL insists on staying at 160 to wait names out, then I'm with you. If he gets the Cotto/Canelo winner, wins, and then still stays at 160, I'm with you. But HBO can still do this hype job at 168.

And nearly everyone beating the "GGG must move up" drum is angling for him to fight Ward, which he won't do anyway, because he knows Ward is the truth and there's no $ in that L.

So outclassin your opponent is only cool if you show less skill while doing so:jbhmm:

Safe to say that not everyone finds Floyd's style boring friend. That "boring" fight will end up doing triple what this did and it had a better undercard (imo) but only one ppv was trashed by the media and fans. :francis:

Neither of those fights should have been on ppv.

It was funny how the fight that was built up as a slugfest turned into a jab fest and listening to James Lampley wax poetic about the "beauty of skills". All of a sudden, credence was given to stuff like amateur pedigree, cutting the ring off, never being off balance so you can transition from defense to offense.....you know, all the stuff he despises in his white male tirades on the Fight Game when talking about Floyd.

Disappointed with this card

Gonzalez/Viloria was one sided and okay
golovkin/lemew wasn't the all out war it was posed to be.
I expected mexican style but got a good boxer being tentative with a no hoper

ortiz vs the marshmallow was :trash:
This was a PPV with not one moment of :lupe: an no upsets
It was just superior boxers beating up inferior opponents
It is a good look for boxing that it was almost a sell out tho

Didn't buy and happy I saved my money for the Cotto/Canelo card and Quillin/Jacobs tickets

Max didn't say "other middleweight need to get in there and unify these belts". He explicitly said there might not be any middle weights that may wanna get in the ring with him, and maybe it would take someone from the "lower weights" to move up and give him the fights the fans want to see. Max wasn't making a case for him staying put for unification purposes and you know it. He was framing the narrative in GGG favor when them big boys start calling.

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
Thats all on Golden Boy N them being Desperate...smart business men woulda let lemeuix fight N kill two bums to build him into GGG jr...then unify Canelo vs Lemeuix on PPV....all in house all the money is yours...lemeuix would a built his name up N they would a ate

That also gives Canelo time to grow into 160 before GGG

But nah do cocaine instead

2 of their top 3 fighters has taken Ls in less then a month...if Canelo loses GBP goin down in flames

Man fukk all that milking shyt.. the best fight the best and somebody takes an L.. GB not going up in flames because someone took a loss.. I know its a hard concept to grasp, but the L isn't as important as people make it

It only hurts Lemieux cause he has no belt and it's back to the drawing board for him

If Canelo does win next month like most think, I really hope the kid doesn't duck Triple G and try to get out of that mandatory match with him. It would haunt him....fans wise.

Center self, inner self
HBO most likely put they foot on his neck...no HBO dates for Matthysse N Herrera N the rest of them dudes N GBP has literally no where to go

Bob has already took advantage of Oscar
Cotto bent them over in negotiations
Lemeuix got put to slaughter

:scust:
