No way he makes weight. Damn you fat boy
I had no idea the IBF had the same day weighins added as a stip..so Lemieux will have to lose at least 8 lbs and then control his eating and drinking for another 12 hours and can't go past 170..he's a boxerNo way he makes weight. Damn you fat boy
In regards to making money. They set this up (purses, costs, etc) so about 150-200k buys is what is needed for this fight to start making money.i think i read that if they get more then 200 k buys its a win?
how many ppv buys do you think their getting? In regards to making money. They set this up (purses, costs, etc) so about 150-200k buys is what is needed for this fight to start making money.

From the beginning of the announcement reports have been that the PPV needs 150 to 200k buys to hit the minimum baseline all parties wanted. Maybe that includes some HBO contribution to the pot to try and build GGG into a PPV attraction.WTF are you saying breh ? You stupid mufukkas like to stan too much. It's ok to stan a fighter, but don't stan the profits dude. What you said made no sense. Due to all the the expenses, they would need at least 375k to break even breh. This is not a Floyd PPV where they charge 80 dollars breh.
Again, the GGG staning in here is the rerason I stay from this thread.
I read dude said this is not a huge mismatch and that GGG is walking around at 154. I have heard it all
I think about 250k buys would be my expectation. GGG is becoming popular and can do some buys. Lemieux will bring in a Canadian fan base (although I don't know if Canadian buys count, but he would at least bring Canadians living in America).how many ppv buys do you think their getting?

All I know is that the price was lowered to encourage a higher buy rate and a better perceived value in the price would make up for the revenue lost by decreasing the cost.
I know going of Dan's information is becoming uncool around here, but he has stayed steadfast in saying that HBO, GB, and Loeffler are all telling him 150 to 200k is their floor that they have to at least reach.
Part we have to remember is these guys are not getting Floyd-Berto or Canelo-Cotto type purses. I haven't heard what they are getting, but I would guess it is a couple million dollars each.
If you got inside info or want to break down the economics of it, help contribute to the thread and general knowledge.

Reportedly both Canelo-Angulo and Cotto-Martinez did 350k. I would say both headliners are more popular than GGG.
I look at this fight as more of HBO testing the waters with GGG trying to get him accepted into a PPV buy from fans, also relieving stress from their budget, and this really is them trying to make a GGG vs. Canelo or Cotto fight a huge PPV attraction.
I agree with this whole post.
Im thinking this will do between 200-300k by the way
No one here is talking dirty about the PPV and how much money it will or will not make. We are posting information given out by legitimate sources.the price got dropped cuz last heard they still didn't break 135k yet. The match is badly advertised. HBO believes GGG is that popular guy but he's not a draw at all. My greedy ass dude didn't even invest cuz HBO was offering low returns. Now it's coming back to bite them in their arse.
Also, no PPV will be profitable with just 200k sold unless the fighters get around 5 mil as total. HBO saying 300k is a vicrtory is because they know what the deal is so they can play it as if well we didn't expect 500k. It takes a lotta money to set up a PPV fight due to copyrighting, rights, licensing, venues etc... You spend around 2 mil to set up everything alone, that's without paying staffers. You dudes have no idea how that money is distributed but I ll let em cook
