so i had a draft last night and picked from the #2 spot. 10 team PPR 14 rounds:

1. julio jones-wr
2. keenan alen-wr
3. alshon jeffery-wr
4. brandon cooks-wr
5. danny woodhead-rb
6. randall cobb-wr
7. duke johnson-rb
8. ryan matthews-rb
9. giovanni bernard-rb
10. philip rivers-qb
11. zach ertz- te
12. steven haushka-k(meant to pick him last, was drunk at this point)
13. tajae sharpe-wr(sleeper pick)
14. minnesota- defense

my plan was to use a zero-rb strategy. which means going receiver heavy and picking up backs in the mid rounds. since this is a ppr league, woodhead and bernard are going to see a lot of opportunities in the pass game, woodhead was a top 5 back in ppr last year too. i chose rivers to stack him with allen and get double points. ertz and ryan mattews in doug pederson's KC offense so we should see somthing similar to a jamal charles/kelce type production*crosses fingers*.

this was my frat league draft and some of my bruhs don't know wtf they're doing. the guy who came in last place last year had the #10 pick and chose big ben :mjlol:

I got the second pick in my draft tomorrow and I'm also thinking of going heavy on wr early. I might go with obj instead of julio. It's non ppr so I don't know if that matters between those two. But I do like the heavy wr idea. Based on my research, the wr position had more closer equality in rankings vs scoring. Brown, beckham, Jones, green were all top five in scoring and were ranked in top five in preseason, except for green at 6. Of the top five rb, only Peterson was ranked in the top five. Players like Martin, deangelo Williams and Gurley were ranked much lower. I think rb can get acquired a bit later in the draft and still put up decent numbers. Too much committees and teams throwing the ball more.

I'd def. go OBJ over Julio at 2 (if you go the WR route). Feel like that ATL offense will be a dumpster fire this year for some reason.

yea you can't lose with julio or odb at the 2 spot. i honestly thought about flipping a coin when it was my turn to draft to be the decider between the two. only reason i went julio was because i think the defenses in the nfc south are softer in pass coverage than the nfc east. i can see julio feasting on the saints and bucs twice a year. the only rb i would target in round 2 or 3 if he drops is lamar miller. if he's not there, then i'd go wr heavy until round 4 or 5.

I got Gurley but Who should I start out of Duke Johnson,Ameer Abdullah and TJ Yeldon?

And should I start Sanu over Stefan Diggs now that Bridgewaters done?
ppr: duke. he'll be the giovanni bernard in marvin lewis' system and get most of the 3rd down work, dumpoffs, designed screens, etc. ameer isn't a pass option and yeldon is going to split carries with chris ivory who will shark all the goaline/redzone touchdowns.

standard: abdullah

ppr/standard: diggs

Only thing that worries me about Diggs is Shaun Hill is awful

The Lions coach came out and said he doesn't expect to have any 1000 yard rushers on his team. A pretty ominous signal for how Abdullah will be used. The carries are going to have to shake out between Yeldon and Ivory, but Yeldon is the superior pass catcher.

Duke Johnson's role is another one I'd wait on early. Hue is coming over from the Bengals, who never had a true feature back, and is known as a QB whisperer. Those things combined with Barnidge, Pryor, Coleman, and Gordon (when he comes back) could either open up the run game by pulling men out of the box, or reduce him to minimal touches because they are passing so frequently.

Diggs is still going to be the WR 1 in Minnesota, but that only carries so much value especially with Shaun Hill throwing to him now. I don't like Matt Ryan in the red zone, so expecting Sanu to eat exclusively off TDs is a reach as well.

To be honest with all of these players I would look who they are playing against on a weekly basis rather than an every week plug in. Check out the defense's rankings of who they are playing against and also how that defense fares against their position specifically. Go with whoever has the better match up early on in the season until their roles shake themselves out.

Just drafted yesterday. Didn't really have a favorable draft spot so once I saw I wasn't getting any of the top WR's I just went heavy on RB with the hope that I'll be able to ride them week in and week out (2 rbs + flex RB/WR/TE) or make a deal if necessary

RBs: Lamar Miller, Zeke, Demarco, Rawls, DeAngelo Williams*
WRs: Amari Cooper and scrubs..Jarvis Landry, Allen Hurns, Diggs, Marvin Jones Jr.

Not that all the receivers are scrubs but can't trust their QBs. I kind of want to wait it out but I know Cooper is going to be the only dependable starter. I prefer to move DeAngelo because I know his production will go down in a few weeks when Bell returns but he should put up good numbers until then.

Coli standard draft...

Think I did alright aside for my QB and TE...Waited a bit too long for a QB but I always end up playing matchups anyways...I can't see a NO TE not being productive in the EZ...I'm hoping Fleener can figure it out...

Julio
Bmarsh
Baldwin
flash Gordon
Decker
