Portugal got to the last 16 without even winning a game, and for some reason got placed in the easier side of the draw. They've had the easiest route to a quarter finals game I've ever seen.

These stupid new qualifying rules have worked wonders for them.

England had 'easy' games too, they just couldn't take advantage of it. 'Easy' is relative as Portugal still had to play one of the best teams of the tournament in Croatia while England played against a team with a population of 300,000. Portugal won their game and now they've beaten Poland to get through to the semis. Could you really say with certainty that England would have done the same?
