I mean Cal could have did all that without his dikk all out in the scene. Like seriously show feels like it's going off the rails with the writting. Like the only thing I can expect is that there will be a dikk in the next episode.

Anyone who believes all the drugs (Rue/Elliot) and messy ass relationships (all the cheatn) and nonsensical babbling (From Cassie/Maddy.. BBW) and super demon cac (Scumbag Nate) sh-t and white dealers (Fez) etc.. is unrealistic....
That's really just how a lot of people are.. more so college from my experience but it starts around Junior year of H.S.

As a breh who grew up in the burbs, i went to high school with a lot of these types. My 1st weed dealer legit looked like Fez. It was just way less hypersexual but all the other shyt i saw plenty of.

I felt the same way but realized the show is compiling all the drama + misfortune of HS youth into a SINGLE group that we watch for an hour.
It’s believable that these characters exist, what’s not is them all mingling together and their storylines interlocking extremely well.

But you could say the same thing about Breaking Bad and that was one of the most well written and cohesive dramas i've seen..
Rue and Nate should only have maybe a hint of who each other are based on their status and who they roll with..
That's usually been the case outside of them getting into it over Jules. Same with Fez. Fez would only interact with Nate very rarely but that tied to Rue which stemmed from Jules.
Maddy and Cassie would definitely be friends. They would also have the BBW tag along.
Lexi was friends with Rue because remember Rue is or was artsy. But that was before the drugs. Rue was Lexi before the drug abuse.
Those big parties where everyone there not too far fetched for a smaller community. The smaller the H.S. then you are gonna have athletes and artsy people and goth cacs etc. all there at the same place. H.S. is one of the only times that happens..

Realism has never been the problem. It's teens, so it's sort of like a cheat code where anything is possible. I don't have a problem with the dikks either honestly. I figure that's Levinson trying to be provocative or whatever.
The show doesn't have the focus it had in the previous season. Like a lot of these characters (the two love triangles in particular) are just running around in circles waiting for the next big plot event. There's basically not much else going on (Kat's been a complete zero) so we're stuck trying to redeem pedo dad Cal and make a drug addict a drug seller. That little Cal speech was fun, but at the end of the day he's still a pedo so I'm not interested in his redemption. Not interested in Lexi doing the meta musical either because it just feels like you gotta give Apatow's kid something to do besides be attracted to Fez (which actually was interesting).
The show is still entertaining but only in a so-bad-its-good kinda way. Maybe something will happen now that Jules finally knows Rue is still using.

I feel like this season the storytelling is more in your face, but has less substance than before (so far, it could change by the finale). It`s like a lot is going on, back to back to back, and at a much quicker pace, but is it progressing really?
Last season they did that one detective style episode. I feel like this season is a season full of that episode, and it`s absurdity.
Writing-wise, season 1 was "Our show mirrors real life. The good, and (more importantly) the bad. We`re telling stories that many people relate, and do not relate to in real life. And that`s fine, because our job is to give you different perspectives. It`s not always going to be the cleanest/easiest thing to watch. But we love to share these characters, and their stories with the world, because we truly believe they needed to be told.
Season 2 is more "We`re going to entertain you, and keep you at the edge of your seats. So many shocking moments, big reveals, and twist are coming. You`re all going to love it".
Season 1= Grounded (at least to an extent), with maybe even lessons to be learned.
Season 2= Fukkery Afoot! (not that season 1 didn`t have any, season 2 is based around it)
The jokes i see on twitter about these episodes being half Euphoria half Hype Williams music video isit do be feeling that way sometimes. I`m enjoying the season, but i have noticed the show is being even more artsy this season. It`s damn near the forefront now. I`m sure it`s because it`s something people loved about last season. So they figured, let`s do more of that
Also, I got a bone to pick with HBO (MAX). WHY ARE EPISODES STILL NOT RELEASE IN 4K HDR???

The movies are but the shows so far are not..
HBO is not surprising considering the TV channel ain't 4k. That's the one thing they're fukking up with though.
