I finally watched this... loved it.
One part made me realise i spend to much time on the coli.
When Zendaya meets PAul and she sais "you cant be the one, you look like a boy"
I was like "bytch, so do you"
I watched this shyt and realized again why I don’t like these types of movies. Just another story of white ppl on some Christopher Columbus shyt again
Paul isn't a good guy. He's a future tyrant. The reason Herbert wrote the book was for people to always distrust charismatic leaders like Paul.
But even on screen, and this only the first portion, he doesn't come off as "white savior" because he doesn't do anything. He studies, has dreams, runs, and gets rescued by damn near everyone...Hell, for all anyone knows, he can die 5 minutes into the next movie.
He's a good director. Not one of my favorites but a very diverse filmography. Obviously the Mad Max films are his legacy but he's done some interesting things outside of that.
what do you think of danny boyle?
He's hit and miss.
I like his early stuff like Trainspotting, Shallow Grave and 28 Days Later. Later films are more inconsistent.
