I can see them giving us an extended before Part Two if P2 ends up taking too long (gets pushed from 2023) but otherwise I think they'll wait for both movies to be out to sell us some extreme cut uhd bluray set.

I'm on the other end, which is clearly the minority. I'm tired of his over the top scores. People are talking barely above a whisper than the music comes on blaring, blowing out your ear drums.

One of the funniest part of the movie was Paul and his mom whispering over a rainy night like 20 ft away from each other and somehow understanding what the fukk the other was talking about

The streets needed that Gurney Halleck balliset tune. That would have done a lot to establish that side of his character and done more to put those scripture quotations in context.

The yueh/paul interaction might have put the scripture quotes in context more too but I don't mind them dropping it.

Jessica training Paul would have done more to establish how well-trained he is as well as establish her fighting prowess, would have helped set up the final scene with Stilgar better.

I would have loved the banquet scene and it coulda given Kynes a lot more shine (and perhaps Shadout Mapes too?), but anyone who thought the movie was slow would have absolutely hated including that.

I always loved the OG. It was always on HBO mid-late 80s and early 90s. I didn't see the extended cut until a few years ago, but I didn't even know people didn't like it until I was always on the internet years later. I could see it being a little campy, the older I got, but it was entertaining. Only Sting and the Baron are over-the-top, and Paul's sis was hella creepy to me, but overall it was good.

In comparison, there are things 1984 does much better, but 2021 looks better. The best is probably the Sci-Fi channe minil, that I've been rewatching, but it looks cheap.

She's supposed to be creepy.

One thing i wasn't quite sure of maybe i missed but how does the Emperor gain the title and what power does he have over the houses.. i don't mean related to spice i mean how does he govern.

The Emperor's family has had the position for over ten thousand years since the end of the Butlerian Jihad. The Sardaukar are like Navy Seals + Spartan-II commandos without the suits. Less than half make it through training from youth to adulthood.

Co-sign. The music was a terrible distraction, not compliment, in key scenes.
