I have HBO Max but I've been trying to fight the urge to watch it on there because I really wanna see this in theaters. Just haven't had the time to go to a movie theater.

Breh, go see this shyt in imax. Not even regular theater
See this in the theater, breh. I saw this in Dolby Cinema at a huge theater (IMO better than IMAX, I don't care what anybody says), and then came home and watched it on my nice home setup and it's different. Still a good movie, but alot of shots I could see didn't have the same amount of detail in the frame, because I remembered the scenes from 3-4 hours earlier in the cinema.

Nah she's dead. That thing only exists to show how deviant and twisted the harkonnens are. They're straight up foils of Atreides. Where Atreides are known to be loyal, honorable etc Harkonnens are brutal, sadistic, duplicitous etc.

You sure? I know it’s not in the book but Yueh mentions them “taking her apart like a puppet” and that thing has human hands and it understood the voice. I find it an odd choice of words to use. It would be exactly some sadistic shyt the Baron would do

I mean, Baron literally tells Yuen before he kills him that he’s gonna reunite him with his wife.

Well given the amount of human hands on that thing it could be an amalgamation of several people so that she’s technically not really alive, I haven’t seen any other explanations on the Dune subreddit and those nerds know everything.

Watching again on HBO Max and i love how Denis setup the story ... Yes the book obviously more fleshed out but all the info anyone needs is within the 1st 15 minutes..
Can't really be out grabbing popcorn because Denis hits you fast. From the convo with his mother to the legislative event to the convo with Duncan to the convo with his father you learn about his training and abilities.. the Fermen.. the Emperor's plans.. an impending war.. the dreams..the spice.. etc.. it's all there.
But i'm wondering now.. did pops think the emperor would be in on it or did he just expect him to stay on the sidelines?

Just finished it 8/10. I think I’ll need to go see this in IMAX because some of the scenes and the score were immense.
It’s left open ended and up to our imaginations but I don’t think that was Yeuh’s wife given Harkonnen’s words. I do hope more bizarre shyt like that is in Part II though. That spider pet looked like something straight out of an early 2000s Marilyn Manson music video.
