The cinematography was much better in the 2021 version. But the story telling was much better in the original IMO.

I seen a few people praising the OG. I also remember growing up it was listed consistently as one of the worst movies of all time. So much so I couldn’t believe they were remaking it. And even more shocked to see how good this remake is. So to see people saying the first one was even good, is a shock. But now I gotta go watch it

The remake is what make the Og good IMO. It fills in some of the storyline the remake leaves out. Only watched because the remake had me itching for more Dune. By itself the movie is trash af

I always loved the OG. It was always on HBO mid-late 80s and early 90s. I didn't see the extended cut until a few years ago, but I didn't even know people didn't like it until I was always on the internet years later. I could see it being a little campy, the older I got, but it was entertaining. Only Sting and the Baron are over-the-top, and Paul's sis was hella creepy to me, but overall it was good.

In comparison, there are things 1984 does much better, but 2021 looks better. The best is probably the Sci-Fi channe minil, that I've been rewatching, but it looks cheap.

fukking LOVED it. Denis might end up being the GOAT at this rate. Made me want to read the books, fascinated by the world.

I just wish they went with someone like Clint Mansell over Hans Zimmer for the score. Zimmer's work is so boring to me.

eh 3D usually never worth the hype unless it's Avatar.. something made for 3D. Dune is made for regular imax or Dolby
