It's in a strange position. Blade Runner 2049 underperformed in the books which wasn't that surprising considering certain aspects (its long running time, sequel to a 30 year old film that flopped in its time too and despite its achieved classic status is still hardly a popular film).

This film's aesthetics are not far off from Blade Runner 2049 and the trailer does not try to sell it much differently either. It's a bold choice especially if the runtime ends up on the tall end of two and a half hours (which I think is very possible).
