His argument is kinda bullshyt.
So The Ancient One is a racist stereotype from Tibet which makes the character a cultural landmine and the solution is to whitewash the character instead of taking the opportunity to maybe clean up the racist aspects of the character?
The reason Marvel is being criticized is they took a role that could have gone to an Asian actor and gave it to a white person. A better solution would be to remove the Tibet location; make the Ancient One's homebase one of the 5 Great Mountains of China; and then cast an Asian actor.
Instead they seem to be copping pleas that they made the cast so multi-racial just because they were expecting to be criticized for the whitewashing of the Ancient One.

Yeah, neither Batman or Dr. Strange originated "the white guy going to Tibet to be trained" plus Nolan didn't actually steal the idea from Dr. Strange's origin because I am almost 100% positive that Denny Oneil wrote that into Batman's origin during his time writing the batman comics in the 1970s.

I think it has to do with the Dr. Strange script written by David Goyer in the mid 90s being adapted for BB, not comic book lore

You're both right. Goyer put it in his dr strange draft and then transferred it to batman begins but it was also a part of batman lore because batman and other heroes have poached a lot from the shadow
