SATURDAY AM UPDATE: Disney's Aladdin is off to a stellar start and looking at a $100+ million four-day debut after an estimated $31 million on Friday, including $7 million from Thursday night previews. The opening day performance is ~$4 million behind the opening day for Solo: A Star Wars Story last year, but the film is expected to play much better than Solo did over the four-day holiday and could deliver much more. After all, The Jungle Bookbrought in $32 million on its opening day back in April 2016 before going on to deliver over $130 million in its first three days. For now Aladdin is tracking for a three-day performance around $87+ million and a four-day nearing $110 million, which would put it in a race to make it one of the top five Memorial Day openings ever. The film received an "A" CinemaScore from opening day crowds.

I saw this earlier today with my wife. I thought it was dope and did just enough to stand out from the original. My wife enjoyed it too.

I disagree with those that didn't like the actor playing Jafar. I thought he was menacing and believable.

Whole movie went back and forth between being so corny it was cringeworthy and exciting moments of nailing the original movie. The acting felt forced as hell but Will Smith was definitely the star of the movie.

I just turned 19, Aladdin’s before my time.

And the movie wasn’t bad imo, it was amusing at least

The kid playing Aladdin looks like he jump out of the cartoon

Will did a good job doing the genie in his own style

Jasmine for me was a dud she wasnt sexy enough or have chemistry with the guy

Like the visual style and the story was actually a step up from the og

Will is good but he takes a big back seat in last 3rd of the movie it seems.

I think my kids liked it. There's some funny scenes.

Not feeling them giving Genie a love interest, he's suppose to go off to explore the earth now that he's free. The Speechless song feels like they made it just so they could get an Oscar nomination.
