The goat is back this show. Is great. I’m really feeling ghost deb. I already knew Harrison set up the bullied kid and that’s extremely unfortunate that the bullied kid literally became the ultimate victim…

Dexter back to his swag ways. He’s obviously rusty but he’s getting his touch back.

Would you please let me know how the books end? Place it in a spoiler
The books are 100% different than the show is after book 1. Think Doakes is alive all the way through iirc. But heres the wiki on how the books end.

After the events of the previous book, Dexter is accused of murdering Rita and molesting Astor. The Miami-Dade Police Department does all they can to pin the crimes on Dexter, even resorting to falsifying evidence. Deborah decides to cut ties with Dexter, refusing to help him as a way to punish him for his past crimes and also demanding custody of his children. Only Masuoka is working to clear Dexter's name, with no success. Brian bails Dexter out of jail and gets him a lawyer, but is being targeted by a Mexican drug cartel he had previously stolen money from. The cartel tries to kill Dexter multiple times to get to Brian.

Deborah reluctantly contacts Dexter to inform him his kids have been kidnapped, which leads to a fragile reconciliation. Dexter manages to set up a meeting with Detective Anderson and some of Raul's thugs to get him killed, which happens, though not before he manages to kill his attackers, leaving Dexter with no one to interrogate. Eventually they find out that their lawyer was supplying Raul with Dexter's intel, which makes them ambush, kill him and all the cartel's members who followed Frank, save for one, who is taken by the brothers to a secluded warehouse, where he is brutally interrogated to get the kids' location and to satisfy their urges in the process.

Once Dexter's children are located, Brian, Deborah, and Dexter team up, break onto Raul's yacht, and take the kids back. Deborah takes the kids away, but Brian is killed by a bomb he himself planted and Dexter is severely wounded by it followed a gunshot from Raul himself and a stomp onto his wound. After Deborah returns to kill Raul in time, Dexter stays on the yacht to set another bomb so there's no evidence left. Dexter sets it up and goes to leave the ship to be rescued by Debra in his boat. Gravely weakened from blood loss, Dexter manages to jump off the yacht before it explodes, losing consciousness while sinking into the sea.

the book also came out after the conclusion of the series.

What a super ambiguous ending wouldn’t you say? Lol

Episode 4 was trash
Trash is pretty harsh. Filler, perhaps. The plot…whatever it is exactly…didn’t move very much. One problem I have thus far is that this police department doesn’t seem any better than Miami Metro.
A kid with no history of violent behavior and long time resident in your town is automatically presumed guilty of attacking a literal stranger based off the testimony of the stranger? A cut that was too clean to have come from the attacker’s blade is totally dismissed by the department and the stranger is declared a hero?
This episode definitely confirmed some things that we already figured out, but it still feels like we haven’t really gotten anywhere.

And what cop would allow a podcaster to just walk into their office with liquor, put it on their desk, and allow the podcaster to start drinking while attempting to insert themselves into a missing persons case???? :stopitslime:

I'm not a huge fan of Harrison being Dexter 2.0.

I remember thinking they killed Brian off way too early on the show, but if that's where the book went with him, we were probably better off without him on the show.
OUR Dexter would never
team up with the Ice Truck Killer

Suspension of disbelief is kinda what you need going into a show like Dexter to begin with bro. This episode disnt really go no where it set up dexters son being :demonic: and now we know who is killing the girls and someone Dexter may start to target.

edit:i see what your saying tho these all seem like things we knew suspected before even the first episode and it took 4 to get here.

I feel like this was the 1st Dexterish episode so far. I might go back and watch 1-4.

Quick question but did anyone else start watching this show because the Wire made fun of it?

I've been watching since the pilot, but I would say that the kids on The Wire were endorsing Dexter, rather than making fun of it.

Like "You got to see this! He's a serial killer, but he only be killing other killers!"
