I prefer his older style of setup a random story then come back to the comparison with something else.It was decent, not his best work. I felt like it was somewhat repetitive of his previous standups.
I don't think he's built that way. In fact I think the Bourdain joke at the beginning was king of telling, and there were definitely some gems dropped between that and the mass shooting thing about differences between white and black folks. I also think Dave is too interested in observing people and the human condition to ever be that bothered by society. He seems to really be on that George Carlin tip of "I've tapped out of the system and I don't give a fukk. I'm simply on the outside looking in at this point." He also seems to be above getting cancelled or shut down. He doesn't have sponsors or advertisers that can be leveraged. He independently films his shows, and sells them to Netflix (who at least for now) are have largely stayed on the side of free speech. The only thing they did that I thought was was them blocking negative reviews of that Amy Schumer special.I hope Dave don’t try and off himself because of the way society’s heading, some of the things he was saying got me worried
Bill Burr's upcoming special seems to also be trending towards shytting on outrage culture and cancel culture. The only reason I'm bringing up another comic in a Dave thread is because hopefully the tides can start to turn a little bit and comedians might start to really push back hard against all this bullshyt. That's what I'm hoping for at least.Fantastic special with brilliant writing. He left it all out there. Probably as close to a Delirious or Raw special in terms of content that we’ll get in this era.
You just gotta let nikkas be hype in the moment. Especially these daysAm I the only one who likes For What it's Worth better than Killing Them Softly?
The tears he held back talking about the boy who was tried as an adult for the wrestling accident. shyt was so real.

That Jussie shyt was accurate.
I remember hearing the story initially and immediately was like
The only people who were jumping out the window defending him were emotional women and gay folks.
"We supported him with our silence... Because we knew that he was CLEARLY LYING"
