I don't recall them protecting Karpeles as well, wtf are you yapping about
Why would Madoff make me no longer want to use the USD?

Vietnam has banned bitcoin. Not a huge country but it's a first.
All, I am a Vietnamese native speaker (my twitter account: https://twitter.com/pcdinh). Also, I am a member of many local Bitcoin groups in Vietnam. Here is the true story:
So, Bitcoin in Vietnam is NOT illegal at the moment. It is unregulated.
- It is just a warning, not officially written, legal statement. Bank of Vietnam issues a press release which is not a legal document. According to Bank of Vietnam, Bitcoin is not 1. a legal tender 2. legitimate method of payment . Basically the Bank says "I don't protect you if you list Bitcoin as a payment method in your contract. Use it at your own risk"
- Bank of Vietnam want to ban financial agencies (only) from trading Bitcoin. However, it is not an official ban. Just a warning.
- Bank of Vietnam say nothing about individual ownership or trading of Bitcoin
As a Bitcoin enthusiast, I believe that the Bank wants to do more research on the topic before composing any Bitcoin-related legal document. I will keep you posted on this.

Sounds like the usual government warning.
Keep spreading uninformed FUD. Every new post you makes you look more stupid than the other

So if you are in Vietnam, it is harder to withdraw bitcoin into Vietnamese currency. If you think ABC news is a flaky source of news, then go ahead and make that claim.
Glad you said that. It decreases your reputation.I think every major news outlet is a flaky source of news when it comes to Bitcoin

People supporting bitcoin have invested into bitcoin mining and don't want it to go away or else they're going to lose money on their investment. They want to pump up the volume of users of bitcoin. More transactions, more money.

Or you could say that if bitcoin goes away, you along with everyone who invested in it will lose out.or you could just say you're too stupid to understand the technological breakthrough of this technology
