Not sure how you can compare bitcoin to the internet. Not sure where you were going with that. It's apples and oranges.. But as far as regulation its the wild west out there regarding bitcoins. Look at the MT Gox situation. People dont trust it anymore. And to be honest the only useful purpose of bitcoins right now is to pump and dump, buy drugs, launder or clean dirty money, or to avoid paying taxes and hide income. None of which was the intended purpose of its creation. The government will get involved... the only question is how far the govt will go.
well like internet, bitcoin is a totally different technology than what people are used to understand and handle. There is a very similar learning curve based on establishing trustworthy infrastructures and gradually teaching people how to use it.

That's just plain false. However you want to spin this, the intended purpose of its creation is still very much true. A frictionless extremely cheap way to transmit money electronically without the use of a third party.
You shot yourself in the foot with the "buy drugs" comment. I'm not sure you understand the whole scope of Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. They are still very much in their infancy and the Mt Gox situation is simply growing pains.
