Candyman was not subpar imo. It had mad flaws in the third act. But majority horror films are bad. Candyman is way above the bar in that category.

Yeah, the main problem I have is that the multiples doesn't make sense within the story. The connection is nonexistent, but they try to tie it together in a toddler made bow.

Polarizing film in deed. All I know this movie was able to catch the same dredful feeling that the 92 film did. I felt uneasy and gross watching the flick. We all knew the main character faith going into this film and it was not going to be good. I just wish the third act was better.

How is there suddenly a candy man guild?
As Burke stated, Candyman to him was Sherman Fields. There was a "hive" of those referred to as Candyman. With Daniel Robataille being da original from da 1870's. So with that, everyone would have a different version of who Candyman is to them. Da movie showed 5. So da Candyman of da OG movie may not be da one that anyone else experienced, since there was a hive.
